Are my cherry mx blue defective?

I purchased my first mechanical keyboard (ergodox from massdrop) with cherry mx blue key switches.
After watching this video and hearing how their blue switch is, I think my switches might be defective.
My switches when actuated the click isn't as pronounced as the one shown in the video.
I will say that my switches are quite linear in feel however it does make a slight hard to describe subtle apparent click noise when pressed halfway.
The one in the video seems to be very snappy and quite loud.
The switches look quite new so I don't think they're used, but could it be manufacturing defect?

I don't think your switches are defective. The audio is really loud in this video so they're louder than they sound in person. If there's one switch that's a lot quieter than the others, then it may be defective, but it's almost impossible to have an entire board of defective switches.

 ;D sometimes i feel like slapping myself. I guess you're right, the audio makes it sound like it's at least 100 grams of actuation on those blues  :)).

wow so people can hear how heavy the switches are now?   GHers have evolved super powers from extended keyboard contact... :D

It's also different to hold a single switch in your hand and activate it, than to have one that is plate-mounted where some of the noise dissipates within the keyboard.

As long as each key clicks consistently with all the others, you should be fine.

And desk thickness and material, room acoustics, mat or other material under the keyboard ...

MX Blues are defective by design. They make a horrible little toy clicky sound (more of a "tack" than a "click").  ;) :p

If you have DSA caps on your 'Dox then that may help explain the difference in sound. Thicker, heavier caps mask the higher pitch components of the switch sound.
