Dead GPU questions....
« on: Fri, 21 November 2014, 21:49:03 »
Okay... So that thread I made,  help with win 8 or something, I said that I can boot into windows, I can also see the boot screen and it loading. However, once the windows icon goes away and I hear the chime, no video. Earlier I managed to spam F8 and tried to get into safe mode.  Zip. So now I got a nice deep red up on second monitor, first time after a few restarts. Haven't gotten it back though. I got a blue screen while booting though. Thought that was odd...

Deep red?  Nvidia GPU?  Need more info, like CPU, mobo, what else you've tried, and so on.  It may be a BIOS/UEFI setting, which is Delete spamming on some mobos.

Anyways, inb4 oven trick.

The thing is, windows 8.... It's hard as hell to get into that debug... So you pretty much had to spam it to get into it.
I found a reset option in there. Seems to be working now..
I need to install a game to test this computer now, after I install drivers, it sits, turning on and off the display.

I wish. My little brother got win8 when he had win7. Not sure how he got win8 though.
He kind of got it for free....
I pressed reset and everything is like new.
He also lost the disc for windows 7 that came with the computer... How convenient.
