Takaki is back, and he's not dead
« on: Thu, 04 December 2014, 09:21:30 »
Those people who lost money to him when he vanished last year, feel free to sign on to Singapore's forum and give him a piece of your mind. Don't worry, it's definitely the same guy.

I came really close to 'investing' in one of those cases... Glad I was too poor at the time! This was also the thing that made me question GB's... Which actually helped lol

That was the acrylic GB, right?

yup, phantom cases etc.

https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=44896.0

Yep, thanks for the link.  :)

That was back when I was quite a bit newer, so that GB was a big shock to me.  :(  Shame to see that turnout...

It's a huge surprise to see him active again under the same name though...      Bold move.

You should walk over there and ask him where all the acrylic TKL cases are that he sold to people and never delivered...

You want to buy from Takaki over buying from me especially when I just agreed to hold my keycaps for you for weeks???

How about this, I'm going to organize a group buy for metal casings. $300 SGD by Singapore bank transfer from you please, frosty. I'll give you the full Takaki experience.

Old news. That store has been up for like 6 months now

OK, so I don't visit that Singapore forum very much. But the folks who knew about this 6 months ago and said nothing...

It was posted here too. https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=54066.0 Turns out it was almost a year, not 6 months.

OK tacticalstache, here's the difference as I can see

1) I saw that thread and commented on it. Old news about takaki's store is not relevant if he got hit by a car and is in a coma. That would also explain why he defaulted on his group buy.

2) takaki himself, or someone with his login details, bumping up the thread in Singapore yesterday is relevant.

He knows he screwed people over and is capable of replying with, if not a refund, at least a humble apology and explanation (eg like Moz, could have provided some explanation of how the acrylic shop went bankrupt and money was lost).

Even a potato photo of the acrylic shop with the words 'Closed Down Permanently' or something would go far to restore accountability, respect and faith in geekhack.

Instead Takaki prefers to pretend that nothing happened, and is trying to continue making money from Singapore forummers who don't know geekhack. He's not even bothering to come back with a new account. Is that thick skinned or what?

Now do you see why I am so indignant?

That said, Gutz is now offering to do group buys for Kishsavers from a local Singapore bank. $300USD wired direct to my bank account; I'll send the Kishsavers out as they become available.  :-X

OK, here’s the account:
POSB 121-32104-1
Bank Code 7171 Branch Code 081
(Singapore residents, see if any of you can recognize the owner of this account…)

Um, you know that this is a joke, right?

In any case, the bank account number above is for my favorite Singapore political cartoonist, who accepts donations. Foreigners will probably not get most of his satire, https://www.facebook.com/DemoncraticSingapore but if you're from Singapore I would say giving $20 to Leslie Chew is better than giving $20 to Takaki.
