Mouse bungees vs no mouse bungees?
« on: Sun, 07 December 2014, 10:48:04 »
What is your preference? I've never really been a fan of mouse bungees what so ever, but I got one free with my latest mouse purchase and I got the following: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-026-ZW

I've never had the need to use one as with my old mouse, the Feenix Nascita, the cable had a nice flow to it, it was braided and it didn't bend in weird ways like the Zowie FK1 does, so I'm using it the bungee now and it seems to be doing a fairly decent job and what not.

But yeah, what is your preference?

I've never seen the appeal of them. It seems like an unnecessary force dragging you mouse back, and I hate the feeling when my cable gets snagged on things.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Worked fine..

you must have set yours up improperly like i did! i finally figured it out after seeing some video of a pro player using one.....after 2 years of owning it....
Anyways i'll post the video or a picture when i get a chance since i have to go out now.

Also yes i LOVE my mouse bungee but my desk setup would also allow my cable to repeatedly fall off the back of the desk causing excessive drag, i imagine people with larger desks wouldn't have this issue.

I just pull up some excess cable from under my desk and let it sit around. No snags, no issues.

This has always been more relevant for low sen users..  for high-sen.. the cable doesn't move as much/ get snagged.

I love my Roccat Apuri (without diodes), sitting 15 cm above the tray. I use mid sensitivity.

One of the best PC purchases I've ever made

I bought the same one! in black of course. now i realize why i set mine up the way i did it like the photo's which is totally the wrong way.

It should be done like this! notice how there's excess cabling but it holds it up so that it's not touching the table, that's the right way to do!

Never needed a mouse bungee. I like to grab some slack and form a loop and set it at the back of my desk. Allows rooms for moving this mouse without getting snagged while keeping slack. Occasionally, my loop will undo itself but I simply just form a new loop.

Bungees would be more beneficial to non-braided cables I'd imagine.

I don't see the need. I have a braided cable on all my mice, just leave a loop on the top of the desk and no problem. I can see it being an issue with a short rubbery mouse cable and very small desk, so some people could benefit from one, but in most cases you can put a heavy object on the cable stop it moving and leave a long enough section to provide the slack and hey presto. I keep my mice unleashed.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

the rubber ones work better, they're more flexible..  but they will break more quickly

mouse bungee is useless for a trackball which is of course the input device of choice.

The mouse bungee is part of the various companies attempt to make money buy selling them to gamers. They provide little to no benefit except to take up more space on your desk then the mouse cord would. If you need to operate you mouse with the bungee unlike 99.999% of the population... well good for you!
