Like it or not the all GF's and Mrs still expect something special from you on this day if not to recognize their own existence in a relationship with you. When I was young I didn't personally care one bit about Valentine's day but now it's a day of appreciating her a little more than usual. Doesn't have to cost you anything other than time and in letting her know how much you appreciate everything she's done for you, hate to live in a world with no females because it would be a very bland and tasteless one.

Women rule in my world now just can not go back to being alone ever again without her by my side

My strategy is to not care about any commercialized holidays anymore, because the mass commercialization and shopping that surrounds every holiday sort of disgusts me.

Although I do appreciate the days off for traveling and visiting family.

Like it or not the all GF's and Mrs still expect something special from you on this day if not to recognize their own existence in a relationship with you. When I was young I didn't personally care one bit about Valentine's day but now it's a day of appreciating her a little more than usual. Actually, I have 3 girls in my life and they don't need Valentine Day to be told how much I love them. I do that all the time. And no, I don't need to spend exorbitantly because some crazy Saint decided to dictate his marketing ploy to the world of gullible men and women. It's a farce! You knew better than this, Elrick!

My girl has to work today so I'm cleaning the front and back yard up making it look clean and landscaped. Really just a few weeds to clean up from some recent light rain. From there I'll be detailing the inside of the house, taking care of all cleaning and chores. Not exactly sure what stereotypical thing to do for her when she gets home but at the least I have a bottle of wine to go with some cheese and crackers that she likes. Maybe setup next to some candles? My biggest luck out though is that she is not into jewelry or flowers("they're just going to die"). I have it pretty easy.
