Fixed it.. Wh00t.....  I don't understand how this ignitor could've broken... it's supposed to last forever no?  looks like ceramic resistor..

Fixed it.. Wh00t.....  I don't understand how this ignitor could've broken... it's supposed to last forever no?  looks like ceramic resistor..

I know the ceramic resistor on any GM with the supercharged 3.8L V6 is a common fail point.  The new one comes with the stuff to change where it mounts on the car at.  The one in the wife's last Regal was under the welded in battery tray on the outside of the frame rail.  New one got mounted on the firewall.

I was always under the impression that unmoving ceramic parts were near indestructible..

sigh...

At least I didn't have to pay $300 to have an expert come fix it..

my furnace actually did that once..  piece of seal tape got caught in the impeller drum..
