Famicon games aren't region locked, they're sold pretty much everywhere, especially in Akiba.

There is free wifi here and there but i wouldn't depend on it, It's definitely a better idea to get a data sim. Your Iphone 6 will be fine assuming it's unlocked.

When I was there two years ago, there were spots in Tokyo that had free wifi although not the best signal. It requires a card with an access code you get at the Narita airport or other places around Tokyo. Here's the website. http://flets.com/freewifi/index.html.
In my opinion I would get a data sim or rent a portable wifi hotspot. Their subway system is pretty confusing if you aren't familiar with subway's so having internet was pretty helpful in not getting lost.

Super Famicom games and SNES games aren't region locked. You can play Japanese games on your American systems... and should

Gameboy games, DS, and PS3 games are not region locked either. And you can play JAP Saturn games with the help of an expansion cart.

You use little things with chemicals to keep it clean and clean it yearly (same idea as those piss pucks. Oh and don't spit in it and spit in the toilet instead.
