A nice slim wallet?
« on: Thu, 12 March 2015, 17:38:15 »
During school, I wear my wallet on my right back pocket. Now, that may be the reason why the right side of my neck hurts, and right underneath my shoulder blade also.

Now, with a slim wallet, I could possibly place it in my front pockets instead of rear pockets. Any nice brands?

Gustin makes a nice slim wallet. And I have a soft spot for Fossil wallets. You could also check out money clips. I think Massdrop always has fun wallets too.

I rock a Fossil right now. In the front pocket as well :).

I just tape my credit card to my drivers license with a slight offset so I can still swipe the Credit card..

I've also seen others do the Velcro

That's usually all I carry along with 1 house key.

I got an EZGO. Keep ~5 cards and a few bills; works great in front pocket.

I have a thin wallet.  Only issue is all the cards that are in it, make it fat.  I just remove my wallet while seated, except while driving.

I've been using this for years (girlfriend bought it for me for $20 dollars at a shopping outlet):
http://www.coach.com/coach-mens-wallets-slim-card-case-in-water-buffalo/74014.html?dwvar_color=MAH&cid=S_GPLA74014&src=googleshopping

I also had one of these for a while (ended up losing it):

Hard to get my cards out of this one though.

Between the two, I like the first one much, much more.

I like the belroy stuff if you're looking for a leather wallet.  Or the 5star (I think) that massdrop runs once in a while if you want something a little more rustic looking.

That said, my next wallet will be effectively nonexistent because google wallet/apple pay.

I use an Exentri wallet. It's not that thin, but it's got windows on the side to slide your two most used cards out. I've had it for about 3 years now and it's not let me down.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I snagged a couple of these from the Massdrop buy. Really slim and durable. Looks really nice, too. You can find them on Amazon and a couple other places (albeit for much more than this buy sold for).

I have the Titanium one and I love it, but I still want the carbon one as soon as ridge starts selling plates separately. I've been thinking about making my own acrylic plates and doing some laser engraving.

+1 for Ridge

is almost like what i got, i literally spent my honeymoon looking for a new wallet and nothing in italy (years ago) could match what i wanted in my mind.

I had ones where the money clip is on the outside, and those don't work after years, the spring isn't as tight, so your money is loose, plus your money is on the outside, and when you take out your wallet to pay, your wallet is separate from your cash.

with a spring clip, as long as you organize your bills (i got from small to large all the time) you just pull it out.

yes i KNOW we all hate cash, but lets face it cash isn't going away, as much as i use my credit/debit card, some places will only take cash/tips.

i think my wallet is a tad bit nicer, it has a thing strip of velcro on the ends so the wallet stays together, good when you come home and slap it on your valet. plus it's thin so it doesn't make a super loud 12 year old nylon velcro wallet sound.

I just put my cards in my pocket. In the USA places that only accept cash are pretty rare now days so I don't even carry cash here. Spending money on a pocket to put in my pocket has always seemed silly to me. I did see not long ago a flash drive that was also a moneyclip. At least it does something else useful, and if you're the kind of person that carry a drive anyway it is one less thing.

Made from Tyvek, so thinner than anything made of nylon or leather.

They start to look a bit rough after about six months, but last me 2+ years until I retire them for being too ugly.

It can be titanium filled with angel farts. But $100+ for the privilege of carrying stuff ain't gonna happen!

honestly how slim a wallet can be depends on the **** you put in, the thinnest wallet would be:
1. drivers license
2. debit card
3. thick rubber band

pretty much as essential as you can get, most of us drive and quite honestly you just need to carry ID w/ you, debit card doubles as cash and credit and a thick rubberband is just an old school way to keep **** together.

Front or back pocket?
I've seen this "revolution" where ppl are putting wallets in their front pocket, why? is your wallet so fat full of rewards cards you need it like that? (cuz fat wallets in back pockets give ppl back problems)

Again lets break it down,
essential
1. drivers license
2. debit card

needed to live
3. insurance card

work
4. work credit card (usually this is the amex)
5. work id (usually you have this separate, either lanyard or clip)

should be carried but never is
car insurance/registration should really be in wallet, not in the dashboard, but who does this.

function cards
i.e. (i have a card i need to use for my unattended parking / also my laundry is a card that's chipped)

How to simplify?
for me since my car needs the card badge to go into/out of the garage, i just leave it in my car
Also since i do my laundry w/ my car, my laundry car is there too (along w/ detergent/softner in the trunk)

Since modern life does not happen with a smartphone any "rewards card" is put on my smartphone with apps like "keyring"

some of us can't have "thin" wallets too, maybe you always need a receipt, for travel/itemization, heck maybe you're a euro guy and you need to use those silly coins, so you have to have a tiny purse around to carry your change. (when we were travelling in italy, i gave wife all the coins, since like most women she has a big ass wallet with a coin purse)

had an LV wallet, paid 600 for it.. and tbh, it was rather ****ty.

now i have this:

http://bellroy.com/wallets/very-small-wallet

smaller than my phone, actually slightly larger than a credit card. can fit about 10 cards, cash and change without getting bulky. well worth it's price. bought my dad one when he saw mine since he liked it so much. zipper also helps keep the inside clean, even though you look like you have a change purse lol.

mine carries:

drivers license
costco card
debit card
credit card
couple coins
4-6 bills of different amounts

and for some reason, paint swatches

no bulk.

now i have this:

http://bellroy.com/wallets/very-small-wallet

smaller than my phone, actually slightly larger than a credit card. can fit about 10 cards, cash and change without getting bulky. well worth it's price. bought my dad one when he saw mine since he liked it so much. zipper also helps keep the inside clean, even though you look like you have a change purse lol.

That's my buddy Demmi, he's such a baller!

Every wallet is thin once you get hacked.

The only thing I really use a wallet for is to carry pictures of your girlfriends.

Boys, boys, boys.  Here is what you need:

Made from the same stuff as boat sails.  Light, thin, somewhat durable.  Had mine for 2.5 years.  Love it, never going back to anything else.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing
