Is it possible to repair this thing?
« on: Sat, 23 May 2015, 14:45:55 »
Hi guys, I picked up a heavily damaged Das Professional. It's the full board with MX Reds but it looks like someone ran over it. A bunch of the switches don't work even on the other side of the board, so I get a feeling that some of the traces got destroyed. I don't want to open it up if it is likely going to be unrepairable. Also, are people interested in MX Red switches if I were to salvage them?

I proxy anything including keyboards (キーボード / 鍵盤), from both Japan (日本) and China (中國). For more information, you may visit my dedicated webpage here: https://www.keyboards.es/proxying.html

salvage switches to sell, not worth it..  Keep them for repairs down the line.

But take it apart, so we could see what's up

Salvage is only worth it in LARGE quantities. at least 1 full keyboard.

Hrrmm..

If the controller's working, and it's just cracked traces.. it's easily repairable.

That's what I was thinking.

@Blaise170 -  I don't see any physical damage, do you think they ran over it barefoot or while driving a truck?

Yeah I meant the full keyboard for salvage. The plate is bent up and some switches conflict with each other when the keycaps are on.
