Favorite Breweries?
« on: Sat, 18 July 2015, 23:25:03 »
We already have a beer thread, but I'm always looking for some new breweries to check out.  What are some of your favorites out there?  I'll give it a start with some I've fallen in love with lately:

Mammoth Brewing Company - I don't think I've ever had a bad beer from them and their Farmhouse Saison was the first in the style I truly loved.  Also, one of the few breweries to actually do an Eisbock.

Tahoe Mountain Brewing - The only pilsner I actually like comes from there, the French Pils.

Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project - the Barbapapa made me start believing in stouts again after many thin and disappointing stouts that had single notes of coffee or smoke.

Riip Brewing - a local brewery with the best IPA I've had in a long time.

Prairie Artisan Ales - the only great thing to come out of Arkansas.  I have yet to be disappointed.

So many good local breweries! My favourites are a bunch of local microbreweries..
Some bigger ones that you might be able to find stateside:

- Whistler brewing. I love the grapefruit ale! It is one of my favourite beers ever.
- Steamworks. These are another local brewery. They have a whole bunch of solid beers. Don't really have one favourite.

As a Michigander always looking for a good beer, is there any specific ones you would recommend?

Avery is killer.  Is it weird that I think Green Flash is overhyped?  Same with Modern Times.

Not at all.  I dont care for a lot of their stuff, but for some reason I like the Palate Wrecker.  I have also had a few of the limited release beers and they were good.

Coors Banquet Beer.

Labatt Blue if you are looking to go international.

Rolling Rock if you are looking for a discount and wish to harken back to the times when Rolling Rock actually was brewed in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.  I have a spot in my heart for Rolling Rock, as the brewery was a few blocks from my grandparent's house.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing

Really, Indianapolis has an f-ton of breweries these days, I don't even care anymore, I just keep it cheap and tolerable.  I'll get some red wine if I wish to impress the ladies.

Alcohol tastes bad..

What is Beer...

Beer... is a primitive way to GET DRUNK...

They fixed this years ago via Clear Spirits..

Distillation FTW..

Beer is bitter pee water, that you have to get all bloated to even feel buzzed.
