No, it comes with age, and not either dying or giving up on life. ;)

Only take advice from wealthy old people,   and only if they're at the point where they're about to die,  like 65+

The reason is,  these are the people least likely to lie to you because hell, they're almost dead, and they've lived long enough (affluently) to have quit chasing silly trivialities.

The only problem is that dementia can take these otherwise wise people have make them jabbering monkeys by that age.  Choose wisely.

A lot of wealthy people didn't build that wealth.  If you're not wealthy too, they probably won't be of much use on how to attain wealth.

As someone who has panicked in life as to what my measure of sucess is or is not I can relate to your request.

However what i will tell you is that there is no measure of success, only a measure of your own happiness with what you have, if you are not happy with what you have then the only person who has the power to change this is you (unless you have a rich uncle that leaves you millions).

Dont take this as a negative response, I'd like to think that whilst I am not perfect in any way I am currently satisfied with my lot in life, when i become dissatisfied I'll go about changing it or accepting that this is the best its going to be.

Self motivation is really difficult for me, but i deal with this by constantly challenging myself to do something new or different.

I dont believe that anyone can tell you what your measure of success is only you decide this.

People may disagree with me on that but that's just my opinion on this.

If i can help i'm will if you feel that i cannot then good luck to you.

H

I agree that that only one's own definition of success and happiness can make someone happy or successful.  I dealt with a lot of depression for many years because I was measuring myself by others' values for my happiness.  I was able to truly see through the fog to my own happiness once I dropped this bad habit.

I have a good friend who's an aspiring actress that's also battled with judging herself based on outside opinions.  She's finally getting to where she should be in life because she's stopped worrying about the others and has focused on her own sense of success and happiness.  There is truly only one judge--yourself.  Imagine yourself on your death bed--only what you think in those last moments matters as a reflection on your own life--and that's really the way it is every day of your life.
