KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS 2.0
« on: Wed, 16 December 2015, 02:22:59 »

http://www.kojimaproductions.jp/

We are Homo Ludens(Those who play).
From the moment we enter this world, we instinctively invent ways to have "fun", and share our inventions with those around us. We are not asked to do this, nor do we need reasons to create. It is simply who we are.
We find one another and compete with one another. We laugh together and cry together all while playing together. Our experiences bind us and liberate us. To share our most valuable experiences, we create stories, invent tools, and evolve the art of play. Play has been our ally since the dawn of civilization.
"Playing" is not simply a pastime, it is the primordial basis of imagination and creation. Truth be told, Homo Ludens(Those who Play) are simultaneously Homo Faber(Those who Create).
Even if the earth were stripped of life and reduced to a barren wasteland, our imagination and de to create would survive beyond survival, it would provide hope that flowers may one day bloom again. Through the invention of play, our new evolution awaits.
KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS We are Homo Ludens. We are those who play.
小島 秀夫
Hideo Kojima

He was basically stuck with Konami until December per his contract.  Now he's freeeeeeeeeeee

To break it down so it makes a bit more sense

-Konami and Kojima fell out, over what no one is sure
-Konami remove Kojima from board of directors to a contractor, changing his contract and putting a deadline on his employment to some time in December
-Konami remove all of Kojima's names from MGSV's box art and promo art and rename Kojima Productions to Konami Japan
-Konami then remove all of Kojima's teams email addresses to randomly assigned hex values that change daily so that they can't leak stuff to the press
-Konami then stops Kojima from promoting the game himself and his twitter feed stops producing content at the rate it used to
-Konami make Kojima's team switch roles at the company (something common in Japan) so lead programs and producers could be working as cleaning staff and a night watchmen
-Konami announce the closure of the former Kojima Productions team and start advertising jobs for future Metal Gear titles
-MGSV launches
-No world wide tour (ala every other Metal Gear title inc Rising and Peace Walker)
-Konami stop Kojima from accepting awards

LOL!

When I saw the Sony intro vid yesterday, I won't lie, I squealed like a lil' school girl.

I hope he brings out a new a Policenauts or Body Snatcher game, but most likely will be new IP, which isn't a problem. I just look forward to whatever he brings out :3

Long live Punished Kojima.

Yea, I know you guys will buy whatever comes out..

But, what if it's bad...  I mean.. is what made kojima the "konami team" or was it just "kojima"

How much of an asset was he...

Think of the relationship between you and your boss..

Your boss gets all the credit, you do all the work..

Kojima was the Boss most of the time..   I really wonder how much he really contributed besides,, yes more half naked combat outfits for the ladies.

tp4, you clearly have no clue about anything on this topic... LOL.

I jest :-*

With that being said tho, you do bring up a point that he is pretty much leaving everything he had behind. He's pretty much starting from square one (he will no longer be able to utilize the Fox Engine). However, I'm not worried. He was able to bring us Metal Gear from nothing. He also brought us awesome products like Zone of Enders, Body Snatchers, and Policenauts. I'm sure he's going to bring us something awesome. Yoji Shinkawa is supposedly on board too, so I'm not too worried.

He turned down $100 million (+ negotiable) contract so he could rehire his old team who were laid off from Konami since they couldn't all move from Japan.
Seems like a pretty cool dude
