Did gamers really need this?  It seems... rather dumb to me.

Pro gamers haven't really been complaining about their current mechs, and considering that they use them more than average people..

Good point. OK switch manufacturers, pack it in and stop trying to make improvements, please!

still not sure they are trying to provide users with more options or at least to prove that they care? some say its just gimmick but i just would love to hear more thoughts  ;)

Can't see it being that useful for games like FPS, but for RTS, MOBA, and rhythm games I could see it being favorable.  Favorable, not necessarily better.  They don't need to stop innovation, the whole essence of mechanical keyboards is being able to choose exactly what you want your keyboard to look and feel like.  This may be what some people have been wanting.  Some people like linear switches and don't even game others argue the "linear switches are better for gaming" doesn't have any proof.  I personally game and like tactile switches.  A lot of this is probably marketing but that doesn't negate the fact that some people want these switches and will love them.  Regardless, coming from Cherry, I know this switch will be quality.

I prefer a higher actuation point as well as a slightly shorter stroke, generally.  Not because I think it helps me actuate the switches faster, but because it just "feels better" for my typing style.  I could care less how they market it, but I'm glad they're making more options available.

It's downright stupid IMO as a mechanical keyboard enthusiast to imply that manufacturers should stop trying to improve things or make more options available.

Managed to try a friends review sample. Didn't like them. Easier to miss hit. And bottom out harder. I also still find it easier to game on reds as it's easier to hover on the actuation when it's half way down. All in not for me. But it's great to have more options!

It helps when play online competitive FPS. Switch actuate faster, shorter bounce up distance from the bottom out.
I just like a millimeter "tap" on WASD, R, control, shift, spacebar. It's weird when typing, but my KBT Race 1 only for games.
I wonder how's it compares to my jailhouse blue + double orings + GMK QMX-Clip mod.
