I've never really had my vision tested, but as far as I know I have good vision. Never had a problem or anything.

I try to make sure to always have a light on and turn down the brightness on my monitor anymore, gotta save those eyes for the future, or until we get bionic eyes.

I used to have -2.25 in both eyes, until I had a toluene poisoning indicent in the lab, which weakened my left eye to -3.50 overnight.

It's real! Nowhere near as bad as that girl in the States who lit herself on fire with tBuLi though. She died of 3rd degree burns after 18 agonising days in the hospital iirc. And we have a guy at the uni who got a metal poisoning so bad he's now in a wheelchair - not long before that he got cut badly, and sprayed blood all over the cupboards. Or the guy who had a glass vessel detonate right in his face like a glass shrapnel bomb. Or the new guy who cut 98% through his wrist tendon in a sharps indicent (the glassware we use breaks with razor sharp edges). Or our PhD that got so allergic so one of his compounds he basically blew up like a balloon and had mummy-like rashes all over his body. Or the acid-explosion-in-the-face thing a while ago. Or the chemistry building that got burned to the ground a while ago in Nottingham. etc. etc. etc. xDDD

I have no idea what mine is, but I have slight double vision.  I can still read most text though, only the small print on boxes and packets seem to be getting smaller these days.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I think I'm -1.5 in my left eye, and -3.25 in my right, give or take. My left is just bad enough to be inconvenient, but the right is next thing to useless for everyday use. Hooray for glasses!

I feel for you guys. I am very lucky, I have been mildly nearsighted since I was a teen, but never more than -1.0 to -1.5 diopters in either eye and a small astigmatism in my left, with with great close-up vision.

When I got to be an old man, my nearsightedness actually improved somewhat and the astigmatism went away, so I am now only at about -1.0 for distance.

However, naturally, my near vision deteriorated and so now I am at about +1.0 during the day when I am active and rested, and about +1.5 at night when I am tired.

All-in-all, I am extremely lucky and appreciate that fact. A few years back I got progressive bifocals and they made me insane. With a moderate prescription, I recommend the basic single-line type.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

-2,50 on both eyes.
I have outstanding close up vision. I normally have no problem getting through the day without my glasses, but I of cause have trouble reading signs or license plates and other such details.
I am naturally short-sighted, but sitting in front of a computer screen all the day made it significantly worse over the years. I am now wearing computer glasses to prevent my vision from getting worse and dry eyes, they help a lot, I didn't had dry eyes once since.

I'd say I've got pretty decent eye sight, I can read down to the bottom of the chart in the 20/20 vision test so I think that is a little above average. I will say I am lucky to have my sight after a certain motor cycle incident that resulted in a stick through my left eye socket into the right side of my sinuses and a little bit of plastic surgery. It was the perfect injury I guess, cause nothing has changed.

Give this a go

Erm... can't remember the degrees, but my eyes' short-sightedness is not bad, just very bad astigmatism.

But ever since I did lasik treatment 2 years ago, I can finally say bye bye to the goddamn glasses (I sweat alot in hot environment and wearing glasses is not comfortable at all)

I used to be -4 in my left eye and -2.75 in my right but for some odd reason my eyes have improved over the last 5 years or so.  Now I'm down to -3 in my left eye and -2 in my right and that was over 2 years ago, so maybe even better now.

Carrots are rabbit food D; .

Also, the notion that carrots are good for your eyes was a British ruse to cover up the fact that they had invented radar. They attributed it to carrots to try and throw the Germans off. So carrots do diddly squat for your eyes :p .

NOooooooooooooooooooooooooo

DO NOT get computer glasses..

They're BULL****..

Basically what they do, is they give you Near focus vision, while blotting out the distance and --things in your periphery--

The distance is far too short, around 20 inches.  everything outside of 20 inches is a blur..

They're essentially glasses that GIVES YOU nearsightedness..

Ridiculous..

Everytime you stand up to get some tea,  you need to put on different glasses..

Oh, you need to see what book is on the far shelf, put on different glasses..

Where's ur cup, looks like it's more than 20 inches away,  put on different glasses..

Is that your wife over there yelling at you,  No, no it's not, ignore it, and if it comes closer, pretend like you can't see her..  Play it cool, and she won't know ur here..

What? That's bull****, my computer glasses don't do any of these things, they are not actual glasses, I wear them ON TOP (clipped on) of (on) my actual glasses. They block out certain wavelengths of light (blue) to relax your eyes. They are basically just a blue-protector and otherwise just a transparent piece of yellow plastic, they do not correct or manipulate your vision in any way, noting is blurry, so what are you talking about? I use these: http://www.amazon.de/PRiSMA-Bildschirm-Clip-bluelightprotect-Lite/dp/B001P8BHQ2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00

Are these not called computer glasses? Hell, I didn't know. From experience, I can guarantee you that they actually do what they claim to do.

I don't wear computer glasses, but my dad does. His are closer to what tp4 describes than what you have. Perhaps both are called computer glasses although they serve separate functions?
