Let's talk about weather
« on: Sun, 10 July 2016, 05:46:33 »
You know when you bump into that neighbour every once in a while, and you need to talk about something, but you don't know what? Well that's practically why god invented weather. You can talk about it anywhere, anytime, for no reason. Even just to yourself. So without further ado...

This as a UV map of europe (and croatia) for today and tomorrow. Looks like there'll be some retr0brighting going on across the continent.

In the UK, you don't need a weather forecast. Rain is the only available option :P .

Today's weather.

But anyway, reminds me of that bit in Groundhog Day where Bill's character goes downstairs, the landlady or someone makes some non-commital comment about the weather, then Bill's character spouts a whole bunch of technical meteorological information about weather and climate, skips a beat, and says "or were you just asking" :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Basically, if you've had the internet at an early age...  Then by the time you reach adulthood,  there isn't much left to talk about..

Grey and clouded, that  seems to  be the only available summer weather for us here in Denmark.
With the occasional rain.

Is there a place where it rains often, but is NOT humid ?

Or is that only possible in Snow territory..

The gloom is usually fine,  but not the humidity..

Humidity is not too bad where I live.
Worst part is the gloomy weather, affects my mood a lot and I don't like it.

I ****ing hate British weather. You can't plan for ****ing anything.

I hope the rain clears up early Tuesday so I can get working on my car.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Seems Danish and British weather is a lot alike.
We're having a celebration for our wedding on Saturday and it sure as **** better be decent weather that day or we're all stuck inside the house.

Obligatory xkcd comic:

At least if you're really into, like, Turkish archaeology, store clerks aren't like 'hey, how 'bout those Derinkuyu underground cities!' when they're trying to be polite.

Looking at the TAF, my car will probably be covered in dew when I leave for work tomorrow.

I would kill for a heatwave, it's been overcast grey in the lower 60s for like a month. Total **** weather.

That sucks, but it'll probably be the same here by the looks of it. Yay looks like our party's going to suck, lol.

If you're in Denmark I'm sure you'll manage. The Danes are fairly crazy party animals, I've found xD .
