The entire thing was staged by Erdogan to secure his political power, remove everyone he doesn't like from office in one fell swoop and replace them with hand-picked goons, and remove every last remaining fabric of democracy from Turkey.
The only coup here is the one Erdogan started himself.

And to think that millions of people in America are saying "Ooo, I'm not voting for that Hillary Clinton because she is mean and ugly."
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Well this election has been set up in such a way we don't really have a choice. By forcing out Bernie and essentially shutting down his wins paired with an opponent like Trump, this entire election is a complete sham. And to think insider interests didn't make this happen would be naive.

But in the US we just use lies and distractions to get things done forcefully, it would look bad having the troops storm the streets. Present the wrong impression, you see.

I would not be surprised a bit if this was true.  Recent political happenings here in Indiana with Mike Pence show that these type of self-serving people will do anything to acquire more power.

Ah but now there's only one real candidate so Hillary is pretty much guaranteed a win at this point. It was strategically, if not sloppily planned.

And he is going to propose to the Turkish Parliament that they bring back the death penalty.

Silencing witnesses much?
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

He's replaced a judge for every soldier arrested during the coup on an almost 1:1 scale

Merkel has told him that if they execute anybody involved in the coup then they won't be allowed in the EU.

That settles that then LOL
