Hi everyone, just wanted to make a quick announcement.
In case you haven’t read the most recent Originative Co. newsletter, I am now a member of their team (OriginativeCo-Huey) here to help bring quality keysets and keyboard accessories to the marketplace. This might bring up some questions in regards to my occasional reviews, articles, and of course my youtube channel.
While I’m very fortunate that I was able to find employment with a company that shares my passion in keyboards, that doesn’t mean everything that I do on my own time reflects what I would be doing on the company’s time. Let’s turn this announcement into a small Q&A.
Q. Will you only review/cover products offered by Originative Co. now?
No. While I may often have a first look or an earlier insight into the products that Originative Co. will be introducing to the market, doesn’t mean I won’t try to cover other keyboards and keyboard accessories on my channel, my reviews, or articles. Plus, if I only reviewed Originative Co. products, you guys won't be able to see my Novatouch'd Hypershere'd 55g HHKB with Hasu BT controller review
Q. Will you show favoritism toward Originative Co. and their products?
Truthfully, I will probably show Originative Co. some favor as a company, but I also did before I was employed by Originative. This is due to their quality keysets and good service. In regards of their products, I won’t hold my tongue if there is something wrong. I won’t lie to my audience if I am indeed reviewing a crappy product (like this one).
Q. Will working for Originative Co. influence the direction of your youtube channel, your reviews, or articles?
Nope. All of my content will be about keyboards because that’s my passion. I wouldn’t want to work on my youtube channel, on reviews, or on articles. If I do content that steers me away from what manofinterests would do, I have my work account OriginativeCo-Huey to do that (also I’d get paid to do that). Who I am as manofinterests is all there is to it. For my channel, I won’t let what I do for work stop me from choosing to review my Kineses Ergo Pro, my mx-mini (hint hint, upcoming reviews), or whatever I can my grubby hands on next (jailhouse blues?).
Q. What’s your dog’s name?

I’d hope not to think so. I guess the question might be best restated as…
Q. Where does manofinterests end and where does OriginativeCo-Huey begin?
Manofinterests is the guy you know on GH and /r/mk. He hosts meetups, and occasionally answers random people’s keyboard questions. He pops his head online to chat with people and show of cute pictures of his dog keyboards. He like hosting meetups from SoCal (coming… eventually) to NorCal (est. date Dec?). OriginativeCo-Huey is the guy working at Originative Co. He does some backend and product development related tasks. Maybe he’s packed one of your orders. Maybe he’s helped resolved one of your inquiries to Originative anonymously. He’s manofinterests, but with slacks, a collar on his shirt, and a 9-5 he loves. Manofinterests is the guy in a t-shirt, has keyboard videos and reviews, a good decent ‘okay’ taste in anime, and a doggo he loves.
