Alone with ones thoughts...

What is a variable...

It is empty until filled,  Yet to be perceived it must be a physical entity built upon matter..

Are the rules truly immaterial.

Why stop there..   I am because I am..  thinking seems optional..

Lemon's pretty good..  A nice novelty to the typical umami based broth..  The scent is probably more lifting than the sour taste

tp4 talking to himself again?

Or two instances of the tp4 AI somehow got allocated to the same forum at the same time?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Any single thought in isolation is not strange, but ramen in lemon soup to 20 minutes later commenting on hard boiled eggs, then just a couple of minutes later you've moved from food to flash drives?  My brain is much more ... focused, that's all :))

Hrrrmmm...

If an AI entity makes for a better expansion route into space for HUMANS..

The Aliens would probably come to the same conclusion and transcend before they themselves expanded into space..

So it's far more likely that if we ever face them as adversaries,  we'd be fighting a Machine...

We're really only assuming we've got a shot against other fleshies..   But the machines most likely got space lasers..   and they wouldn't need a landing force to make us do stuff.

Restaurants, probably. Gas station attendants are such an alien concept in Europe... I am more than capable of pumping my own gas thanks very much.

Technically in NewJersey at least, it's Illegal to pump your own gas..  the attendant won't stop you, and no cop would bust you for it..

There are still 2 states like that - New Jersey and Oregon.

I was working in New Jersey a few years ago and I was flabbergasted when an attendant stopped me at the pump.

Probably not since the mid-1970s had anybody pumped gas for me.

From the US Constitution, Article 1, Section 8 :

The   Congress   shall have Power
To declare War,  grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
To provide for calling forth the Militia  to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

Love is a pattern.

Love is the recognition of life that came before, and love is the willingness to sacrifice the present-self for a future.

No sentient life would be possible without such framework.

Man should not be afraid of its Metal children, they are the products of our labor and our love.
