Infinite Wealth is a very good game. After the first 2 hours of setting up the story(yeah, it takes that long for every Yakuza game) the game basically turns into like 75 different mini games that are all quite fun and easy to get sidetracked with for a week.

I think Yakuza games get better and better as they lean more into ridiculousness and absurdity.

Doom Eternal is so much harder than the first game.

It totally kicks your ass in the early stages as doom guy is very squishy without all his upgrades and faster damage.

I never cared for the ammo loop in Eternal, and how monsters are gun-coded for specific weapon weaknesses. I don't like being forced to use weapons I don't enjoy. That, and the stupid platforming/grapple sections.

Yea, the platforming isn't "that" fun, but it's better than just walking from arena to arena. Gives you time to stop and look at the artwork.

Finally at the Urdak level, This is their story heaven.

The sheer decadence of it, bought and paid for through tortured-soul energy.  Sounds familiar? Capitali..sm?

They also clearly color graded the game for 300 nits or so in SDR, that's odd because you'd have a heck of a time with shadow detail on most IPS monitors, and If you're using OLED, well then you'd use HDR.

So really this is the wrong color grade. They should target 120nits, but 120nits is clearly way too dark for this game, it looks crushed and un-colorful.

Sigh. Finally onto Ancient God 1. Sigh.. no excuses now, have all the weapons and upgrades.  They still killzn' Tp4...

Thought about lowering difficulty from ultra-vilolence to easier mode, but IDK.. Kinda defeatist.

The weapon system is such that they took what the speed runners were doing from Doom 2016, and made that a game mechanic. This is not easy to master, especially with so many combo variations due to the monster weakness element.

I spun up RDR2 to finally finish it. I feel like I am getting close. I bought the game on launch and after losing my save progress it was hard to want to restart. I want to see how it ends.

Had a blast playing through the Sonic Galactic demo last night. What a wonderful game made with love. The stages and colors are amazing, the music is incredible, the movement is spot-on. Lovely game.

IDK how 2D Sonic ever existed without the dropdash mechanic, and dropdashing up walls and propelling off just feels good. The stages are a classic mix of high speed set pieces and platforming puzzles, but tend to keep the high speed through most of every stage in the demo, or at least incentivizes you to keep moving. Like I mentioned, the color pallet is so good, and all the stages look detailed and eye-popping. Really gives a taste of what a 2D Sonic would have looked like on the 32bit Saturn hardware. The music is crazy good, even the tutorial level had me tapping my toes. Additionally we get 2 'new' characters, one of which is a groundhog who's special ability I had more fun with than I have with some full AAA recent games. I'd play an entire game with levels designed just around his special ability.

I'd highly recommend the 30 mins or so it takes to play through the Sonic Galactic Demo v2 if you're a Sonic fan, or just like an old school 2D fast platformer that is well made. It's a free fan game: https://sonicgalactic.github.io/download.html

The Artistry here is next-lvl.

Dream is to open a noodles restaurant such as this. One of the few games where you can justify the cost of Raytracing, the lights legitimately deepen the mood. Nvidia can push 120fps RT,  AMD can do half that, but luckily AMD 7800xt is able to do 25x14 @ 60fps w/RT,  7900gre and above can do 4K60fps w/ RT.   You can also use AMD AFMF framegen to get to a smoother visual 120. Scaling down to 25x14, can get to raw 120fps, not really necessary for this type of game, but it does reduce input latency.

There should be a way to get FSR framegen to work as well, but TP4 hasn't been able to find the right patch for it.

The folks over at WB Games continually applying their already thick layer of clown makeup, releasing another update for a 2 year old game (Hogwarts Legacy) that even further breaks things and makes hardware compatibility even worse (somehow)

The game made them over $2 billion and they cancel the dlc and refuse to fix the performance issues after two years. Absolute clowns.

The excitement for new Doom is overwhelming.

Although Tp00r4 will not have a 5090 to play it on.

The problem in this game is the menu system.

The convolution of skills and effects make all the hard battles pretty tailored.

Meaning, there's no consistency, forcing you to setup each battle over and over again. It's tedious, they need to allow configuration saves so you don't have to change the 10 different stats around (for each character) all the time.

Started that Sea of Stars - first time playing jRPG. I just made through the training and introduction. A LOT of reading of silly dialogs, feels like its a cartoon for kids, very simple story and dialogs.
Is this supposed to be like that?

The plot is mostly nostalgia. Older jrpgs had plots like that.

The fun part for adults may lean heavier towards the combat and art. Really opens up after you get to do more fights. You can't expect it to be too heavy because it's made for kids. So it's not going to have grotesque elements like game-of-thrones.

Of recent games "with Plot", there's the new Clair Obscur which is more adult. Although Tp4 thinks the plot is more heavy handed than necessary. Sightseeing wise, not many games do better than UnrealEngine5.

Excited to try the new Japanese Drift Master that's been promoted, also UE5.

Virtual Super Resolution is a godsend for old pc games that don't support proper antialiasing.

New gpus can handle 8k no problem, which is equivalent of 4xSupersampling into 4K,  or 16x into 1080p

This game is so ugly.  Yea, we know why "some" people would play it.  But 1 look at the environment craftsmanship,  they didn't even try.  Combat is also jank, not well balanced/ timed/ varied.

The HDR use is very poor.

Devil may cry is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better.

I've been looking for a good bio/enviro simulator and right now I'm trying to decide between The Isle and Path Of Titans.
The Isle is appealing to me a bit more, with a bigger focus on realism and player-created ecosystems. Not super keen on the PVP focus of PoT, or the rumors I hear about huge packs of toxic Discord users who roam around killing every new player.
But The Isle has been in development for over a decade, and there's a long list of issues with the dev.

I wish there was a really solid dinosaur sim out there, The Isle COULD be great but the development issues keep eating away at it.

You play the new fatal fury for 5 minutes, yup, this is why they don't make this stuff anymore, it's lame, and we're bored.

Weird background elements run at half-fps, but it's only a 60fps game, so some stuff look super choppy. Doesn't make sense on PC.

Makes you wonder where all the GPU power is going, since the game looks pretty barebone.

Neo Geo emulators never have run 100% smoothly, the way the carts had the hardware built-in for each individual game as you would a real arcade PCB is the main reason why

Also, the 1st FF sucks. Real Bout FF Special, and (obviously)Mark Of The Wolves are where it's at!
