So I got a little ambitious and thought to swap the switches in my corsair rgb strafe from mx reds to a hybrid of ergo clears with different springs as a first mini project. Everything went well, all keys worked even with my amateur soldering skills but I decided to redo the switches a few days later and get some proper lubrication in. That's when problems started showing.
First the right alt, ctrl and probably also the function key stopped responding. I'm not sure why. Even after swapping pins, housing, resoldering, it's still down.
Secondly, the entire column of F7, 7, U, J, N also stopped working. Thing is, I never unsoldered keys F7 and 7 ; they were working before but now the whole column is pretty much dead. Did the same thing as above and nothing worked.
http://imgur.com/a/znsJT here's a picture of the soldered back if it helps :/
What I did a while ago for further diagnosis was grab switch hitter and did some jump starting with a cable. If I were to connect the left pin of the bad key to the right pin of a good key, say J to H or J to K, H and K gets triggered. Swapping however gets no response, assuming a swap is suppose to trigger the bad key. Connecting the pins to any key within the same column shows no response either.
I just reheated the solder joints earlier assuming it might be a cold solder, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.
Can anyone please help me with this?
edit: I just found out the left pin of N (bad key) to the right pin of my spacebar's switch triggers the C key?? is that suppose to happen?
