Lip balms

Blah blah I know tp made a thread, I just can't find it.

Anyway, with burts bees that's mostly petroleum makes my lips feel like there's an actual layer of moisture and whatnot. But the wax one, or the flavor crystal packed on that smells and tastes amazing it feels dryer and harder to apply. I've almost convinced myself that I need to break these in more than the petroleum flavored based burts bees.

What's your preferences?

Kaplan MD lip balm. I switched from Burt's and never looked back, I have been told by a strange girl in a restaurant I have kissable lips if that counts as a reference.

I got hooked on this stuff when i was in Sweden many years ago... but when i run out i go to the Carmex blue tub. I did find a big box of this pl3 in Italy last summer so i'm set for a while. It's a product of Italy:

For someone reading this thread and thinking to yourself 'gosh none of these have ever worked for me' ask your doctor for a Protopic prescription. Life-changing for me, at the very least.

No, i just spoon it out of the same tub for cooking..

I'll try it one day. My ex gf used coco oil for everything in her life to the point where she was part coco oil. I guess it works.

Protopic is an eczema drug, I think it would not be ideal for other applications.

You're right, except some research has shown that for few people with excessive lip chafing, protopic is the only effective treatment. I happen to be one of those people (tried everything in this thread, fancy imported cocoa butters etc.). I even tried to alternate or wean off the protopic and my lips still get extremely dry. My doctor doesn't think there's any problem with me just continuing on the protopic, although this is definitely something people should discuss with their doctors. Once every three days with the protopic is sufficient for me.

Carmex from the squeeze tube works for me. I know the balm container is cheaper but they get all kinds of lint in them and I REALLY don't need that much chapstick these days.

I find myself picking the lint a lot. Kind of annoying sometimes being that when I'm at work I get maybe two seconds before I can put it on and don't want to be picking at it with my nails and watching it slowly get dirty.

I have used Carmex in the pot daily for decades and I have never had lint in it. Where does it come from? Are you leaving the top off?

Maybe it was the quality of the container. iirc the lid fit was pretty inconsistent. Somehow lint would get into the threads of the jar so when I opened it the lint would slide out of the jar lid and land in the balm.

If it's any consolation, the lint is from work shorts. They do all the cleaning for me and provide them.
