desolder is the cleanest way.. to prevent mishap.. You have to desolder the WHOLE keyboard all the keys if it's plate mounted.
If you're very attached, and baby your keyboards as many people do, then that's the way to do it..
Tp4 personally, am much older, and have gone through a million of these boards... I wouldn't bother desoldering.
What I would do, is just rip it out and replace it with modified costar stabilizers. and epoxy/superglue it in place.. It's just easier and saves you hours of desoldering.
SOME would consider this barbaric.. and destroys the old stabilizers But....... it's kind of like duct-tape mods.. I don't consider keyboards precision instruments that need babying..
In some ways, it's similar to making the --Underside of your car look good-- yea.. you could do it.. kind of a time waster..
