Yeah I guess try not to spend a lot of money unless you know what you like. Maybe get something used? I see a CM Storm Quickfire Rapid used for $60 on Amazon. I used one of those for a few years with Cherry MX Brown switches and really liked it. I also have a Filco Majestouch 2 TKL and it's a little better build quality than the CM Storm, but both are solid. Leopolds are supposed to be good build quality too but I've never owned one. I don't think you could really go wrong with any of those 3, and the switches you choose with it will probably make a bigger difference to you than the keyboard build quality.
If you don't know much about switches, just google "mechanical keyboard switch types" and there's tons of information. Some are loud, others quiet, some take more force than others to actuate, some have a tactile "bump", others are "linear" and smooth.
There is one cheapish TKL called the Team Wolf ZhuQue on Amazon that will probably not feel as nice out of the box I would guess, but has the advantage of having hot-swappable switches, so if you want to try out other switch types you can do it later without soldering.
Really depends on how much money you want to spend, and how much experimentation you think you'll want to do to find what you like best. You could even assemble your own and pick each component separately. A lot of folks in the community do that, and it's easier than you'd think to do your first one, but can be quite pricey!
Anyway, welcome! And good luck with your choice!
