Most people eat 12-16 ounce steaks, 340g-454g. That's 85 grams of fat to 113 grams.
Do people really eat a steak that big regularly in the US?
If I have a 150g steak I consider myself quite full. Usually I have about 100g of meat per meal.
For kids we have the 8 ounce..
But people who are going out to eat (given economic means) would get at least a 12 ounce
But this is PRE-cooked weight.. SO after cooking and water loss, The Fat is still there, but the water is gone, so you can eat more of it.
meats lose ~25% of water weight after cooking.
A 12 ounce would only come in at 8, and a 16 would come in at 12
When I used to go to wendy's, I've seen kids these days, 9- 10 year old, round ones, eat 2x wendy's triple stacks.
That's around 300 grams of meat.. 1300 calories from fat.
