I'm all for
restorative plastic surgery: to fix something with your body that is abnormal.
However, if it is too apparent that you've had surgery then that is a signal to the world that you are vane and either insecure and/or a douchebag ... or that your career is in the porn industry.
Famously, Angelina Jolie had a genetic predisposition towards breast cancer, so she had her breasts removed - and replaced with implants of the same size: I think that's a good use of plastic surgery.
However, if you've got calf implants to look like muscles because you want to look ripped but don't want to spend time in the gym, then with all due respect: feck off!
... people need to realize that every surgery puts them at risk for infections and other complications that could disfigure or even kill them.
Indeed. Bill Paxton died from a post-op stroke, caused by a blod clot he got during surgery.
I've had a surgical wound get infected. I had to go and have it taken care of by a nurse every day for about two months, and it left me with what looked like a second belly button.
Edit: I've had surgery in that area since, that reduced the "belly button" look, but the rest of the scar looks bad.
