Keycaps by Leopold or for Leopold, where to buy?
« on: Mon, 28 January 2019, 09:44:57 »
I have a couple of FC980M (black case with black front-printed keycaps), as well as a FC980C (white case). I'm interested in buying some keycaps (PBT), specially for the FC980Ms, because I'm a bit tired of the all-black look. The best shot would be original keycaps by Leopold, with top dye sub or double shot legends (quality guaranteed and perfect compatibility). I have seen some color schemes that I like such as the Leopold PD combo (two tones of beige) or the grey-blue combo. The problem is that I cannot find these keysets available anywhere. I know Leopold once sold keysets for their boards (some years ago I bought in eBay one for the 900 with black keycaps as replacement), but I'm starting to think they no longer do so. As regard my new FC980, I have already ordered a blue spacebar from KBDfans, with the hope that it's not bended or has bad quality in general. I would have liked to order a trio of keys (spacebar, enter and esc) of the same matching color, but they are not available. I suppose I could try something with the esc key, just not to let the spacebar as the only touch of colour on my board. Maybe an artisan? Again, artisans for Topre... not many to choose and not easy to find.

Oops, sorry, this should be on the keycaps subforum. If anyone can move it... Thanks.

There are some on ebay. I think two_tigers is the seller.

Yes, I have that set in my watching list. However, no idea about its quality. They should not be bad: PBT, dye sub, 1,4 mm thick, and the color combination looks good. The legends indicate it's not a original Leopold set. No idea who is the maker.
