As you probably know, the Internet is where men are men, women are also men and children are FBI agents. Today, I talked some random kid at another forum into buying a mechanical or vintage keyboard. He wanted to try some switches then and I offered I'd meet him and show him some of my keyboards. The kid eventually claimed he was an obese 12-year-old schoolboy. Oh Gaben... I'm in trouble.

nice work on converting someone to mechs but the meeting IRL part.. :))

I only consider that if the member is someone who's been on the forum for at least 6 months and is someone who I've had conversations with...and well you know if I like them

Tangentially.  We talked about art since we went to an art walk and my casting came up.  She thought Dolly was cute and when I said it was kind of nerdy because it was for keyboards, she said who cares as long as you enjoy it.

Gratz nubbs!

I discovered I had a dead hard drive. That I can't really afford to replace. No data loss, fortunately.

Stretched some canvases to do some paintings. Nice big ones... 68cm X 153cm. I made the stretcher frames myself too. It had been a long time since I did this myself, I had forgotten how tricky it can be to get them nice and tight by I got there in the end.

The more you look the better you get at quickly noticing things you really don't like, or thing you really do like.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

mowed the lawn after almost a month of just letting it grow.  i had spread some seed out in hopes that the bare spots would fill in.  the thinner areas did get a nice boost overall.

Swapped my Filco yellow keycaps back onto my QFR (thanks, fellow GH member, who posted pictures of a Filco yellow recently :p).

Played Minecraft for a few hours with my daughter (she hasn't been well recently).

At least they put the wires in a junction box. One house we looked at they had just used electrical tape on all the wires they connected in the attic and crawlspace.

today was the first time politics touched my life. my employer gave a presentation on his relocation plans for my team. they see the russia's involvement in escalating ukrainian conflict as a risk to having the development team here :(
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

yeah. though most likely all the team (including me) will move to uk. besides rainy weather, it's not that bad.

You get used to the rain fairly quickly and it really isn't that bad, also our summers have been quite nice in the past few years (yay climate change). We have mountains here too!

Given some of your previous pictures, I have a feeling you are going to miss the mountains too.  I am on the east coast of Canada now, but I grew up on the west coast.  I miss the mountains a lot...
understandable for someone who grew up among the astonishing landscapes of alberta or british columbia. but i grew up in moscow. every piece of land in the world in better than moscow. and this is yurop, alps will be a couple hours of flight away!

You get used to the rain fairly quickly and it really isn't that bad, also our summers have been quite nice in the past few years (yay climate change).
cool!

We have mountains here too!
no, you have pimples :p

Just a heads up iri, you have to wear clothes here, you cannot just weild an axe to cover your "pimple" huehuehue
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

All right. So the official formula now is "the UK is not that bad besides rainy weather and an inhumane requirement to wear clothes".

That's all right. I won't be living in London.

Can someone tell me where they got those super cool keyboard icons in their signature?

I drew one but it doesn't look as nice.

DEY TOOK ER JEBS

TK R JEEEEEEEEEBS
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

It has been too many days since this was posted as answer to the thread's question.

If indeed it was ever posted. Warning: Ponies. Also techno.

You could also see Derpy here, but in my mind its the wrong song.

This is a much better place to put that song.
