Tinlong told me about this a while back, glad it wasn't vaporware. :)) Aggiejy's looks better though, that "Red" looks pinkish.

That blue looks hot. Almost makes me want to get a tenkeyless to put in one. They should make it easy for me and make some limited oni in these or something.

I asked in their facebook if they'll be including stand-offs this time.  Hopefully they will QA their products better this time around.

mmm that dark grey one. Was planning to get one anodized another color, but now I don't think I have to look for a shope anymore.

It doesn't need standoff holes, it mounts the plate different (but more securely) than Filco. Standoffs could actually create problems trying to mix the two mounting systems.

Facebook says Filco and ONI compatible - no mention of QFR.

I had a CM QFR in one of these metal Vortex cases before I sold it.  They are 100% compatible with the QFR.

The plate fits and innards fit..

you do have to do a re-cabling because the quickfire rapid has a second detachable pcb, so basically You put at the Other end of the cable.

Or you can keep the PCB close to the keyboard and just use the 4 pin cable as the detachable portion.. works just fine.

How difficult is this for the average joe?  Because I think it's really silly to not market it will work with the QFR given how many of them are out there.

It's not difficult at all.  Grab a spare cable from a Filco and pop it into the PCB on the QFR.  Viola...you now have 100% compatibility with the Vortex ALU case.

Um...

Ok, ah... yes it'll probably work.. but there seems to be some resistors and caps on the mini quickfire rapid detachable usb board...

So I'm assuming.... they're for signal filtering, and limiting excessive current...

Now, these resistors and filters may be on the PCB of a "filco" while they're on the daughter board in the quickfire..

Just an FYI.. careful...

The surface mounts on the daughter board looks like the insignificant kind though.

I just want the option to order one in raw aluminum so I can have it anodized somewhere else.

No those are Anodized Silver, this has been confirmed in another thread.

Edit: It also says its silver in the description.

It's clear anodized... either way step 1 of anodizing is an acid bath known as pickling which gets rid of anything on the surface including old anodize.  Having no colorant in the old anodize is just extra insurance that you won't get odd coloration.
