Slide the City

Ever wanted to ride a giant slip-n-slide down multiple city blocks? Time to go to Slide the City.

Coming to a city near you!

I went to one yesterday, and had an absolute blast.

It's a bit pricey if you only do the single slider ($25-30 for one turn and you have to bring your own tube). The VIP package is the best deal - around $60 but you get a bunch of swag (tube, hat, shirt, knapsack, mouth guard), and get to ride an hour early and an hour after close (the best times to ride - maybe 5 minute wait vs. the 90+ min. waits during the event).

I mostly went because I could not be in my residence at all yesterday and needed something to do. Being a holiday weekend most of my friends went out of town, but I still had fun by myself  :)

That sounds so cool.
My friend has a house in upstate NY and we always set up a slip and slide that launches us into his lake. It's super fun!

Here's the thing..

I've always felt, that -some- -many- other people are dirty..  (primary reason I don't go to a gym/ waterpark /etc)

how does the cleanliness situation work on this excursion..

Lots of chlorine in the water? Antibacterial treated plastic?

Yea.. I get that.....

but...... seee....  the chemicals do not work "Instantly"..

You're still very much ---Exposed--- ..

If it was just 1 person, as a vector for disease,  that's possibly harmless..

but we're talking hundreds of people// perhaps thousands..

For example.. I avoid cash as much as possible..   have been using a credit card since 2nd grade, when my mom threw it at me to stop bugging her for nintendo.

This does look super fun though. It gives me the idea to do it at the cottage. Use oil instead of water to go real fast.

I didn't think about it. Probably busy having too much fun :p . I'd wager the tarp is treated before/after the event, but the water used is just regular city water (it's sourced from fire hydrants)

The slide is long enough I was going quite fast a few times. Collided with people almost every time, even hit someone hard enough I flew off my tube and slid down the rest of the course on my stomach. Ow. I could only imagine with oil  :))
