In Tp's defense, (it's ~20 yrs old) it were kinda broken, the spring has lost too much power over time..

Tp4 gently massaged the spring in the opposite curvature, but it's still not tension-ed right.

They probably have to drill and balance the thing based on spring variance. Sigh... These things are xpensive.

Buh,  plan B, now,  is  wind the spring in the opposite direction, Leave it there for oh, IDK a month for the spring to gather strength.  Then try again.

i was thinking if your fix does not work, as i am pretty sure an electronic metronome would be cheaper than 20$ and apps i would bet that there are quite a few free, phone or web

I understood yui, Tp4 were joking. A whole new metronome, <not made in germany> would only be $20-30

Tp4 thinks it might be the RUST causing the issue.

If y'all zoom in on the pictar, you can see there's some oxidation on the main and secondary shafts.

The main, has the most surface area in contact with the spring gear body.

Gonna try soaking in this evaporust, says safe on plastics, no solvents.

In the history of Tp4's stuffs,  Do not oil, has always mean't Oil-Tastefully.

So, the moral of the story is, Tp4 has learned Nothing, Tp4 was right all along.. The Germans done goofed using substandard steel...

The shaft has oxidized too much after (~20yrs), and has become just a little too thicc around the spring housing. This is the main section of power loss..

Overnighted in evaporust rust remover, and then a light polishing with mineral oil. 

Runs gud' ,  Checking timing accuracy now.
