What a concept!  I'm alert, focused, energetic, and feeling good.

Next steps:  exercising and eating healthy.

eating healthy.
you already do that.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Been trying to fix my circadian rhythm for the last few weeks. ****'s difficult when your body's used to going to be at 6am and waking up at 3pm. Slowly getting better though.

Blame computers...

Cuz without computer... there'd be nothing to do to keep you awake so late.

F.lux might help with your computer at night. I don't  know if it actually helps with the circadian rythym and stuff. I do know that it helps with your eyes.

It might look a little strange at first, but I promise you will learn to love it. It fades slow enough that you can't tell and after a few days you will forget you have it - Until you disable it and see this blinding blue light and wonder how you used to live without it.

Ugh, FLUX. Makes everything look like it's stained with iodine. Bleeeechhh. Personally I could never get used to it, I actually felt like it was straining my eyes more because all the colors were washed out.

For what it's worth, I never have had any troubles with my weight and health throughout my entire life, and I might have some things to contribute to this thread.   For me, it all comes down to lifestyle.   Eat healthy, sleep enough, play sports, be physically active.

I eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, whole grains, a bit of milk and cheese and eggs, and meat perhaps once a day.  Not so much fish becuase my taste for fresh seafood and freshwater fish drives me away from store bought fish.  I try to stay away from anything processed or frozen, but I'm not perfect.

Once you eat mostly non processed foods, and go back to some fast food or sugar infused garbage, you might be able to feel the way your body reacts.  My body feels terrible after a soft drink or fast food or bag of chips or signal binge.

Then physical activity.  I always have played sports, I enjoy endurance sports, get outdoors as much as I can, and ride my bike to work and for small errands.  It's about making movement an everyday part of your life.

And sleep a lot.  That gives you more energy for your waking hours.

I used to (and still do) stay up late reading books. Now I stay up late reading patents and the like online, then, when I go to bed, I read a book anyway.

About getting enough sleep: I got stuff to do! I'm more efficient at the average task than the average person, even when underslept, so I would say it's more efficient to stay up and work than sleep in.

I'm curious what sort of patents you read.  I've read a few for various projects I've done (both for school and personal enjoyment), but never for fun.
