No idea. Did this sort of thing even happen during the SARs outbreak? I recently got some aviator connector caps from China, surely long into the outbreak, but I did order them maybe back in mid-to-late January.

What did you get thermal pads for? BGA RAM chips? Some weird laptop heatsink that has too much of an air gap with thermal paste?

My Chinese clapperboard order just got outright cancelled, not even delayed.

Eventually just ordered a UK one, which is actually a much more well-made one, as it turns out xD .

lately i have mostly ordered from the uk as well far less chinese sellers on ebay it seems although sometimes parts can't be found anywhere else (an hdd cable for a dell laptop 2usd in china 75usd from the us) so i guess we will have to be patient (or cancel your order and order from closer to home)
anyway if you want the best in the business when talking thermal compounds order from the german (der8auer/thermal grisly), if you need the cheap stuff a stopgap measure may be to "steal" from an other product (unused/dead gpu for example)and replace it later on

I've just been ordering stuff that is in the US already in my case. I got two keysets on order (Keyrative Sanctuary Rebirth & GMK Wasabi) that are both beyond their shipping date with no clear answers as to when or if they will ever ship. So I'm using them as a gauge for when the coronavirus is cleared out enough for the economy to go back to normal. Since Sanctuary Rebirth is coming from China I figure by the time I get that shipping channels should be mostly reopened. Although the title of this post worries me a little bit as I've been planning on getting some of the Fugipoly Ultra Extreme XR-m thermal pads to replace the cheaper ones that came with my waterblock for my 1080ti. Gonna have to make sure the seller is at least in NA when I do order them.

Great, I guess the 130 switch tester I ordered way back on January 8th from KPrepublic ... which was actually out of stock, although the product page didn't say as much, and was then delayed by the Chinese New Year ... and of which I have heard nothing at all about since, won't be shipping any time soon.

Speedpak is usually out of HK / Shenzhen,  so that's away far south of Contagion.   Hrrrm... guess HK is best bet.

2 weeks ago China was at 15% manufacturing capacity, last week it was at 30%.
That's manufacturing, you still need to ship it (our docks are starting to be hit by hit) and get it to market, as those products move, so does the virus. Regardless of what happens in China it's going to be 3-6 months before the supply chain recovers, and then you still have backlog to make up for.  Keep in mind that also puts us right into Christmas manufacturing season, so if it goes 6 months, it's going to have lingering effects all the way through the end of the year.


You guys are looking at 2-4 weeks while they're looking at Christmas and beyond, which is why the stock market is going nuts. We were already propping up the stock market to inflate our economy and hide the true state of it (until after the election) and now our tools to combat this new threat are limited (same happened in 2008). By the time the real fit hits the shan our toolbox for reversing it is going to be depleted.

We could very quickly be right back where we were in 2008, probably worse.

Well, KPrepublic seems to finally be preparing my 130 switch tester for shipment, though their website still lists them as unavailable, so that should be an interesting test to follow. Can the slow boat from China really get any slower?

I ordered from KBDFans on Feb 15th, and my order showed up this week (they were totally shut down til March 1). But everything takes forever to get to Canada anyway. China's supply chain seems to be rebounding -- TBH from here on out, if you're in the USA or Europe I would be more concerned with how things are going to get to you once they reach your country. Internal shipping will be just as much an issue, if not moreso in certain countries.

That's pretty tough for me. I work in multiple schools. Luckily, they're shutting them down for at least the next two weeks (spring break here is the week after next) but we may have to now go to students' homes to troubleshoot/repair, etc. I think custodial is going to try to disinfect every single building, and only staff will be here otherwise, so that will hopefully help. I'm using voluminous amounts of hand sanitizer, but I always do that, and I almost always get sick twice or so every school year regardless. The best part is that I have pectus excavatum, and have already had pneumonia countless times, so that'll be fun if I get infected.

if anything low temps will help it survive longer (the lower the temperature the slower it will decay) i guess in a hot oven it does only survive a few minutes

I had a similar issue with a different site. I got a defective product I'd been waiting four months for. It'll probably take at least two weeks to get a response to my email if business is even still up and running, and who knows how long to get a replacement.

Just an update on that 130 switch tester ... which I ordered back on January 8th, and supposedly finally shipped on the 16th of this month. Yeah ... that's still in Chinese customs purgatory.
