Finally tryn' some Doom Dark Ages.

Yikes. Tp4 needs a 5090.

60-80fps on 79xtx, using FSR4.1, 1440p upscaled into 4k

Frame gen eats 10-15 fps, Nets 100-140.

It plays reasonable smoot, but mmm.. IDK, feels not as nice looking as Eternal.

Perhaps just the art style, but 1st stage kinda look like blurry mud. And the wood just doesn't look woody.

Lots of mostly flat plains, was this intentional? IDK...

The FOG is there, guessing this is eatin' most of dat GPU as usual.  Why developers like so much fog, to hide how fake the lighting still looks?

Week into Doom dark ages,

Honestly, the fog is "cool", and after you tweak the color setting, it does look "hdr-yy".

But Eternal just looks better, and plays at double the Real frame-rate.

What raytrazn' is there in Dark Ages, simply does NOT justify the performance cost.

It's always interesting to see how quickly PC hardware evolves. I'm especially curious to see how the upcoming GeForce RTX 6090 compares to current high-end GPUs once real-world benchmarks become available.

Some arguments floating around  about getting DDR3 systems.

It's semi-true that DDR3 prices haven't risen.

Buhhhh, the 9600x makes DDR3 not make sense, since you can't do a 4790k build for less than $400 unless you're already extremely experienced or have parts on-hand,  and the majority of people SUCH as that are already on AM5.

The lowest anyone should go TODAY is something like a 9600x AM5 build + 16gb single stick, + a $70 2048 (rx580) gpu, and wAit for the AI bubble to pop.

4790k is also difficult to overclock without delid. @ 4.4ghz all core, it's very limiting.   Unless you get to the 4.8ghz all core, alot more things stuggle.
