Of course the people in this country are overwhelmingly against yet  another  Middle East war, but what it seems like I am also hearing is that we are practically out of bombs and ammunition.

The scenario in the 1960s (aka Cold War era aka Vietnam era aka Space Race era) was very very different. The "Military/Industrial Complex" (+NASA) was a colossal money machine that drove an economy in the US in concert with the federal government. And although we were sending lots of "stuff" to Vietnam and space it was American stuff, made in America with American money.

Today, America makes very little "stuff" (thanks, Reagan!) and what industry is left operates with an attitude of antagonism to the government rather than in partnership with it. So that the net effect is that wars are far more "expensive" today relative to society, plus those depleted supplies are not manufactured in America any more - keeping American money at home - but is yet another drain.

The correct analysis of the situation is that if progress is defined incorrectly by 1 #number, or too few #numbers,  then it inevitably drives the system to short circuit, which is where we are.


You also portray money and economics only in the capitalist sense, when in reality,  Capitalism does not exist, Nature, is entirely SOCIALIST.

All the players "believe largely (incorrectly)" that it's capitalism, when it's really not.
