Yeah thanks to some very generous donations, I've gotten back what I put in up front with only 65 of the people contributing.

Lets see, out of 131 orders for the base set, only 65 people gave him the sorting fee, basically half the group buy participants.
Lets be generous and say the remaining 50% that 30% were just a little late in giving the $$, thats still 20% (26 people) who weren't going to pay.

anyway, maybe you think im being a little harsh, i feel dave does a great job with these group buys and I'm more than happy to voice my opinion on the matter =)

I can't imagine their customer base being all that huge.. We're definately on the better clients list ,, and pay way higher premiums.

SP makes DS for koreans and their other customers buy in bulk sets, without making specific demands all the time on specific keys. Aside from that, they're the only company that can reliably make DS keys atm.

I'd like to see these legends and how they compare to what we already have before doing that. Not that it isn't a worthwhile endeavor its just I don't know the difference because I haven't seen a cherry board in 10 years.

Currently I have just been planning on covering my future group buy legend fees with them. For example the Biohazard logo is $120 for both a mod and an Esc key, or $60 each due to the complexity of the legend. I was thinking I would just pay for those and drive the price down on that GB. Since many of the members of this group buy were interested in it, I figured that would be a worthwhile investment for the funds they have contributed.

No and no, sorry I didn't get any extra Tsangans. If Taeyong wanted to sell you one of his, he has 23 though lol. Since he is in Korea you'd need to arrange that prior to me sending it to him to save on costs. I would then just mail it to you for him.

Ok, I'll just go ahead and pre-order the standard 87 keyset (plus "Execute" key as well I assume). Just post up (or PM me) how much I will need to paypal you including shipping and fees (should be $73.95...or just call it $75 for good measure).

I do wish I didn't miss the cut off date though...$20 bucks more kind of hurts, but at least it is going to you and I probably would have added about $10 to my payment anyway.

Being as how I'm already taking preorders for the leftovers though, I'd have to say they're probably going to be priced the same as the leftovers to be fair to those people. I have already paid the bill, so those that don't pay have waited a bit long to cancel their orders...

please charge a premium for all orders after close date. 1) there's clearly enough demand for it 2) you took the risk of bridging the manufacturing fee. the extra cost is an extremely justifiable risk premium. not charging this premium would set a bad precedent imo.

Yeah that's the logic I've stuck with. Though the extra sorting fees have been paid for, I'm still short almost $700 if none of these orders get paid.

very imo also you should charge folks a late fee for missing the payment deadline. most likely they're deadbeats anyway, but in case they do end up contacting you and want their product, you still ended up having to bridge their payment, and that was not the original agreement.

eta: i haven't been following the last few pages, but if you're really trying to get cc's for the people who donated into the sorting fee reimbursement fund, i would also consider giving those ballers the option to convert that into equity in your venture or clickclack's venture. we need a (very small) business infrastructure at gh to get cool stuff done!
