I don't know if this was already made, I can't seem to find it.

Let's get everyone in here who plays so we can organize some events. This can vary from duo que matching, arranged 3/5's, or inhouse custom games. Of course, any LoL related discussion should belong in here as well.

Please post your username/region and I will edit it into the second post.

Haha, I haven't played Dota2 since I got invited to the beta nearly a year ago.

I was the most hardcore Dota player in WC3 but Dota2 just doesn't do it for me right now. I play LoL/Dota for the competitive aspect, and Dota2 doesn't offer that (too many games where half the players have never played before). Maybe when they implement a more structured ranking system!

And by the time it releases I think Dota2 will be way too behind LoL in the e-sports scene. 45 million players... Dota2 has a long way to go.

Yeah, wait for the proper release. That problem should be fixed by then.

LoL has more people watching because of all the casual players. But Dota is the much more complex and engaging game imo.

I have to agree with that. LoL brings everything down to the core mechanics of a MOBA, IE if you're good at last hitting, positioning, map awareness, etc then you will do very well in it. I especially miss having to master certain heroes at a time in Dota. In LoL, if you know how to play a certain lane, you can pretty much play most the champ that belong in it... but that's not to say being able to play at the top with the very best is any easier.

I thought there were more GH'ers playing league. Hopefully more will show up -- I'll keep updating the list.

League of legends isn't free, that's why it lead the way in PC revenue.

I dunno, I got to 1900 elo with basically one champion. Then stopped caring when I would either have to invest over 2000 hours or a couple hundred dollars to be "competitive". There are some things that I really like about league, such as the an active jungle and jungle based objectives, but that's about it. Their champion designs are pretty cool. The list of things I don't like is a bit longer, but they all basically stem off of "League casualizing the game too hard to where games last longer than they should, and if you are a worse player than your enemy it doesn't matter because no buy backs and rax respawn".

Basically, if I had never played dota and had a bunch of money, I would have probably played league.

I don't know, I guess League was just a breath of fresh air after playing Dota and Hon for so long. When I was playing at a competitive level in those two games their meta's were at a point where tri-lane bot/top was popular with two solo lanes. All you did was basically baby sit the right click carry and hope that your other lanes didn't feed. Basically, I got tired of the entire game centering around the carry if you wanted to stand a chance at winning.

League shifted the focus back towards team play. No buy backs and rax respawns forces team play. When a rax is down, you have to shove lanes and split push, coordinating it properly and taking advantage of the 40 secs you have to push while an enemy champ is dead. This does promote a bit of rubber-banding in allowing teams to come back from games they don't deserve, but a lot of the times that means you have to blame yourself for giving them a chance. Games can be ended quickly if you dominate map control and objectives, which Moscow5 has been proving time and time again in tourney play. It makes everybody on the team valuable for the entire duration of the game, and that's something that other mobas really lacked in.

If you don't to farm IP for everything, you will end up buying RP to get stuff, hence it not being free. And most of the time, people will buy RP, even just a little. I've spent 5 dollars on the game myself. x]

Yeah the game is free but Riot does try to pull you into paying with actual money to get items, so I guess some people would consider it not free. I dunno x_X

What salesmen doesn't??? The shoe was given for free, but you can't complain when they try to sell you polish. It is certainly an option, but not a requirement.

I was hoping there would be more of us so we could play some arranged games. We could schedule things in this thread, but it doesn't seem like there are a lot of us here.

Watching streams and tournaments? LoL is not a bad spectator game, although the tournaments are lacking compared to SC2 tournaments.

I don't really play LoL much these days, but I play on EU-West and would be down for a GH ARAM or something. Just announce it on the forums first because the only times I log on LoL these days is when I'm asked to play with someone.
