- Logitech G9x MW3
- Logitech G700
- Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard

After two years using only Cherry MX switches, using a membrane keyboard feels god damn awful, no matter if it's pretty or has backlight, still sucks.
My collection:

It could be worse.  My dad got this keyboard for his HTPC:

The Logitech K400r is the worst keyboard I have ever felt or used in my entire life.  So much flex and mushiness.

Um, I actually use that one for my Google TV, since I can't find the K360 that it came with. It's actually not bad, since you're not doing typing-intensive tasks from the couch (usually).

interested to see the curly USB cable...  :D

This cable was from an Australian cable manufacturer http://www.curlycords.com.au/.  Cost around $40.  I think they get a 10 meter cable and curl it down to around 1.5 meters.

And in it's natural habitat :D

You're a better man than I then.  It's miserable for me.  I tried typing with it in a browser while looking for some videos and I could barely type with it from all the flex.

Actually earlier this week, but I couldn't open them until today.

Keycaps from KeyPop (including a extra - thanks!):

And some from techkeys:

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

i have it too, and don't really have any complaints. i don't really type on it as if it is a "real" keyboard, it just happens to have all the keys i might need to open my media folder and put on the next movie/tv show without getting off the couch. and walking 8 feet. i'm exceedingly lazy.

Two lucky days in a row ! I was visiting my parents, so it isn't technically in the mail, but I found 2 mechanicals  !
One with topre Alps (edit : I'm stupid) switches and a 60% Cherry !

Here is the topre Alps one, I must point out that it is part of a "portable" computer, so there isn't any infos on the back, and it's weirdly shaped :

It got 2 PS/2, one for the mouse and one for the keys. The keys were rearranged to AZERTY, but I put them back in QWERTY because of the different angles. I don't know why but there is a blank key, right where the "><" key is placed on ISO layouts. It's not a key from another keyboard, and it is a row 1 angle.

I tried the keyboard, first time with topre Alps (well, I used this computer when I was like 10yo so I don't remember) and I must say, IT'S AMAZING. I'm going to take it to work after a good cleanup. Every key is working and the trackpad too.

Here are some other photos I took :

So, it's a white topre, correct ? (I'm not very knowledgeable about topre. Feels a bit like an mx blue to me) (still stupid)

This is the computer on which it is integrated. I won't go into details about it because there is nothing exceptional about it except the form factor...

Now, to the Cherry  G84-4100LPAFR-01 :

I like the combination of 60% and low profile. The keycaps are reaaaallyy sh*tty tho. :-\

So, I didn't even knew about low profile switches... Any idea why the color of the switches is black despite being a non-linear switch ?

I also made a closeup of the keycaps, if you want to see how bad they are (seriously, I have cheap logitech keyboards with better keycaps... :)) ). They're ABS btw, it's written on it.

So, I guess it IS good to visit your parents once in a while !

I have two of the Ti spacebars, one brushed that I'm keeping and a shiny which I'd like to sell

Yea, but no 1.25x FN keys and I kinda like the smaller 1x for FN  keys

unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)
