Well, it's been almost 4 hours since the world ended. Funny, I don't feel any different. Do you?

The entire world, nay the entire universe, has transcended as one.  That world ended; this world has begun anew.

Luckily, the Magrathians have buried fossils, etc., so we'll never be able to detect the difference.

But the mice will know!

That's weird, I'm hungry and out of food and my neighbors won't share their brains food with me, no matter how hard I pound at their door.

From urbandictionary.com:

Quote
1.  Mayan Fools Day  1 up, 1 down
 12/21/12

They sure got us good

The Mayans were the original pranksters. They set up a prank so good, that over 5000 years later, it fooled millions of stupid people into thinking the world was going to end. December 21st 2012, otherwise known as Mayan Fools Day.

Mayan King: Dood check this out, I told our wisemen to make a calendar with the sole purpose of screwing with people thousands of years from now. They will think that the end of the calendar means the end of the world!

Mayan Dood: Haha, that good prank. People in the future so stupid, they believe anything.

Mayan King: Haha, indeed. I'm going to eat your heart now.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I walked outside this morning and I realized that it's not that the world ended; in fact the zombie apocalypse already happened YEARS ago. For instance, ever seen reality tv?

The entire universe did disappear.  Then it was instantly replaced by something that is even more bizarrely inexplicable.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I had a frustrating experience.

I figured that since the ancient Egyptians had a 365-day calendar without leap years, and built pyramids, like the Maya, obviously the conclusion would be that the Mayan calendar must be an imperfect form of the *real* calendar that fortells the cosmic cycles: the calendar of Atlantis!

So clearly all I have to do is find out about the Atlantean long count, and I would know when the end of the world is really supposed to take place.

Well, in my web search for information on the calendar for Atlantis, I finally found one web site which said the best explanation of the Atlantean calendar is contained in a book by Charles Berlitz...

entitled Doomsday: 1999.

Back to the drawing board...
