I'm still hoping I get my spacebars and WNV before my birthday. One can always hope.

They would indeed be quite the epic birthday present :)

Just got them in the mail. Apparently I was shocked by the "BLUE" ones when I opened it up. These are not the light blue we ordered. Still waiting for MKC's response.

The blue doesn't affect my orders, but I like that darker blue a lot more than the lighter blue as well.

Darker blue for a spacebar probably a lot better as it is used so much haha.
Pretty excited for these nonetheless :)

When do you think you can get them shipped out Feng? :D

Maybe I can start shipping tomorrow, since I have no class in the afternoon.

Just talked to MKC, he said he can make some of the light blue spacebars and it shouldn't take that long. I'll soon send out PMs to those who ordered light blue ones, to see if they would like to wait for the production for light blue spacebar, or take the royal blue ones as shown in the pictures.

Unfortunately I wasn't around here when this GB was active.

I'd be interested in buying surplus spacebars, that fit on my Filco TKL :)

Are any of those dark blue ones left?

PLEASE don't harass MKC they have done the impossible in actually colouring the BLUE just the WAY I LIKE IT.

I know I've ordered one but I am very happy to buy the rest from you.  Tell MKC as usual they have never failed to impress me when it comes to their brilliant work.

Question to Feng,   That blue doesn't look like Royal Blue on my monitor... but obviously pictures are not accurate..

I AM interested in Royal Blue, but would like some confirmation,  WOULD YOU, say there's a Purple/red tint to the Dark Blue bars you got...

Review of Orange 6.25x  BAR

Had it for a few hours now..

The color is more "red" than I expected, towards "salmon"   Luckily, I enjoy salmon. But for anyone who was looking for a Yellow-Orange, bright-tangerine, this is not that.  :))

The sound on my green spacebar switch, it gives the key a distinct metallic firing pin sounds like I'm pulling a trigger to an Unloaded gun.

The finish is quite good, very smooth.. somewhat anxious, as I don't know how long this would last.

The feel, it's significantly heavier than my regular white pbt space bar... if I put it on a regular blue switch, there's a little sagging, No- noticeble sagging on a Green-switch..

An older-blue-mx switch may have trouble resetting under this much weight.

So, all the Red and Brown people might consider a stiffer spring for their SB switch as well..

My typing rhythm is definitely affected, as the key travels back at a different rate.

The texture is very smooth. I could see this being an issue if you have 'wet thumbs", but visually it's fantastic.

Finally:  Mad-rops to Feng and MKC for bringing us such quality KB paraphernalia...   :D

Below is a picture of it in "reverse-typing-orientation"  ;D

I got mine today as well.  I unfortunately have to complain.  The cross holes underneath that house the  little white thing for the stabalizers is all jacked up, on both of them.  on the orange one they are too loose.  If I turn it upside down they will fall out with the mere force of gravity.  My black one is the exact opposite.  the holes are so tight I can't fit them in there.

Is this correctable?  I don't work with metal and don't want to try prying anything in fear that I will snap somehting, making them useless.

Any help?  Are these salvagable or should I return them to Feng?

Like most SP caps and stabilizer inserts, when it't too loose, use a little piece of tape. I use green painters tape.
If it's too tight, you can poke a screwdriver or knife or something in there to open it up just a little to fit.

If the stem is too loose, you can either use a little piece of tape, or a plier like this: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34407.msg680672#msg680672

If the stem is too tight, as Halverson said above, a screwdriver should help. If it doesn't work please let me know and we can talk about returning stuffs.

Just double checked with MKC, he said those methods should work fine and won't lead to cracks. These aluminum keys are flexible, not fragile.

OK, after the go ahead I tried the bending myself.  I't was actually very easy.  I did mine with a small pair of pliers to tighten them and the file from fingernail clippers to open the tight ones.  The color doesn't exactly go with the red alert set, but whatev.

Thanks feng.

On a personal note.  I have to agree with the guy who posted before me.  These are heavier than I thought, and therefore louder than expected.  They are pretty cool still

Thanks Feng!

Titanium has the bling bling factor. Definitely more solid. Nice heavy, thick thock.
Honestly, it's not a huge difference to me. But I would say titanium>aluminum all things considered.
