Maybe there are chip crumbs in the barrels, more crunchy, but close to clicky :)

I bought a "clicky" Model M on ebay that turned out to be a 71G

The woman went berserk when I complained .....

Misinformation is the problem, I reckon. Some people (including myself, before being enlightened by this forum) are unaware that "clicky" is a technical term :D

This is, indeed, a rubber dome M being marketed as "clicky".

I'm sure this person saw all the legit "clicky" IBM Model M's selling for high amounts.  They just copied the listing style and description assuming they had the same product.

That seller sells a lot of keyboards and should know better.

I always get confused between the "Soft Touch" and "Quiet Touch" Model Ms, one is the rubber dome and the other one is the grease-filled springs, but I can never remember which is which.

I love irony: ClickyKeyboards says Model 71G4644 IS non-clicky variant = rubber dome

If you have not ever owned a 71G

It looks and seems exactly like a Model M, except that when you press a key - nothing .....

A rubber dome keyboard, nothing more.

My first mistake was buying one for $12.95, thrilled that I had gotten a set of keycaps for that price - only to discover that they were not Model M compatible, either.

A 71G is a NON-CLICKY IBM Model M keyboard.
