Leapold Questions
« on: Fri, 22 February 2013, 12:30:00 »
So I wanted to get a good quality board with cherry stabilizers to give them a try and I wanted an additional switch type anyway.

I heard great things about Leapold but didn't like their case design. Until I saw the FC700R which has the exact style I like. Only thing is, I don't see them on EK.

Is this an old model? Or just the new one? Is it carried, or limited supply or something?

I also noticed they come with PBT caps. I want one.
Thanks guys <3

It is a current model. It seems like they're only being carried in Asia right now. You can try to get someone to proxy it over from Australia. I have one but I bought mine in a sale from the classifieds. I will say it is a very very nice board.

Edit: It's also spelled Leopold :P

Just remember.. the MX white case is painted white.. and the caps are a slightly different white than the case.

Although, I see they make a black version.

They're actually graphite and that's exactly what I'd get. It's the perfect dark grey color imo.

I'm not sure how helpful this is but you can order internationally from Leopold.co.kr as long as you have a Korean credit/debit card. This is what I plan on doing when the 660M comes out but I haven't looked at their shipping rates yet.

So I guess if you can somehow get a proxy with a Korean card, you can order directly from the manufacturer.

Yes. I'd love to buy a set of the blank grey shown in that photo, but I can't find them anywhere.

Shipping is gonna be hella pricey, just FYI. I did a check on shipping for just caps. ~$20 AUD for packages under 2kg.

Maybe a better option would be to try and find someone willing to buy the Korean key caps from me when I get it since GMarket has them available but only with English/Korean key caps.

Just buy it now and swap it with PBT caps later?
