I'll going to Tokyo this month, any suggestion about keyboard shops?
I'm looking for Filco majestouch 2 tkl and HHKB Pro2.
Anyone know some good shops?

Yes, these places stock keyboards. The huge Yodobashi has mostly Filco with a smaller display of Topre and HHK. The latter two are still pricey even in Japan.

When I went to Akihabara it felt like pretty much every computer related shop had keyboards, so they aren't that hard to find really.

I do remember Sofmap (ソフマップ) had quite a lot of keyboards in some of their stores (these are everywhere). There were also some sort of super large store (not Yodobashi) that also had some. If you're looking to buy a white HHKB Pro 2 specifically, like I were, I'd recommend Dospara, since they were the only store that had it in stock when I went there in June. Was 2000¥ more expensive than the black version at some other places, but for me it was worth it. :>

Something I've been wondering about is if there are any stores in Tokyo (or the rest of Japan really) that sell used computer accessories? I'd love to find something more or less rare (there aren't a lot of rare keyboard stuff in Sweden), and I think those kind of stores would be the best place to look.

Yodobashi has HHKB, but it's usually sold out - as I found out when I was in Osaka and Tokyo last December. I got mine from Sofmap in Akibahara.

At this time the cheapest is to buy from amazon if you have a postal address in Japan. Yodobashi, Tsukumo(ツクモ) and Ark(アーク) have their real shop in Akihabara, but I don't know if they offers same price tag there.

You seldom have opportunity to see vintage keyboards in Akihabara recently. I got only MX11800 and Apple IIGS keyboard from Akihabara in this two years, but these are very very rare there. I have gave up to find keyboards there. Yahoo Auction is better place to find them.

Oh, that's too bad. :< Guess I'll have to check Yahoo Auctions a lot if I ever stay in the same place for more than a week in Japan. I've seen a lot of interesting stuff on there before, so maybe it's not a bad idea.

By the way, something I found interesting last year was that a lot of the shops in Akihabara had KBC Pokers, and quite a lot of them too. I reckon it was a bit hard to get them west of China at the time too, so if you're looking for a Poker Japan might also be the place. :> I have no idea if they were cheap or not though.

I went to Akihabara once and it was great. I bought my Filco Majestouch Black TKL at Sofmap/Cleverly (at least that's the name Ripster used to refer to it as).

Yodabashi Akihabara has mechanical keyboards. I don't remember Yodabashi Camera (is that the name of the one at the Shinjuku Station in Shinjuku?) carrying any.

Found something interesting. I have no idea what these are but they appear to be cherry mounts with 3 prongs rather than 4

They are also white and linear.

All these locations are dry for IBM stuff. But there was a PC 8801 keyboard with blue alps at the furthest one in Chiba. I might buy a Topre I found on one of the closer stops too

Where are all the cbd areas where officers are or where workers usually live? Those tend to have the most bits here and there. I was actually planning to go to saitama's hard off but maybe not lol

Anyways I got me a blue alps today out of four hard offs. Nothing else worthy. Chiba is quite dry

Help me out locals, I am a baka gaijin. Where are you hiding all the caches of IBM keboards?

There's still one left in the southern end star of Chiba. It's a very odd blue alps which is tactile. You can probably buy it if you want but it is 5400 yen
