Looking for an all white keyboard.
« on: Sat, 16 March 2013, 04:26:40 »
Anybody know a place where I can get a keyboard that is completely white, blank keycaps, and comes in reds/browns? Thanks
Edit: Tenkeyless, sorry for not putting this :P

Maybe a ducky like thishttp://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=184 or you can buy a QFR and buy white keycaps seperatly .

I want the entire keyboard to be white including the frame so that ducky is out.

I think you can manually color the case.
If you dont want to do that i have no more suggestion for you.
The cheapest and imo best solution is to buy a QFR ,color the case and buyu white blank PBT keycaps ,as i said above.

PLU-87, HPE 87, or Keycool 87
The others can also be found on qtan's site, but you'll have to replace the caps if you want blanks.

There's the Filco white - http://www.amazon.com/Filco-Majestouch-2-Tenkeyless-Keyboard-FKBN87ML/dp/B005JC4QLS
but it only comes in black switch. There's also the Filco white ninja, which does come in red mx but good luck finding one.

The filco white with red switches is available on keyboard co.  It's not exactly a pure white though.

I think Leopold has a white FC700R.

Yeah there is a white Leopold FC700R. The problem is availability unless you're in Asia (a friend got mine for me when he went to HK) or Australia.

You can either try to get the HPE-87 or you have to wait for Filco white/beige Ninja TKL to come into stock.  Personally, I almost bought an HPE to convert into a Phantom, but ended up with a second Filco.  It's definitely a beige, it is not as pure white as the PBT keycaps I have on it, but is generally quite striking.

THE ONLY white one from the list posted so far is the LEOPOLD, but alas it's PAINTED, not white plastic....

The other choices are actually all "CHALK"// "Beige" //"mustard-white"

hpe is white. White for real. No paint. Paint is stupid. Don't almost everyone love their doubleshots? :)

The only thing I find off-putting with the HPE is that massive logo thing above the arrow keys. :-X

But its all metal and shiny and stuff.

I would suggest a Matias keyboard and harvest some white caps from another alps board

HPE is "not white" it's Beige-ish..

most of the photos are tweaked, and used flash to get "whiter--"

Pff. No, it's white. Except the cable and the rubber feet on the bottom which are more beige or yellowed.

Edit;
and the lazer etched legends (the OEM key caps that come with it are terribad)

There are lots of different shades of white.. But if anyone is looking for the Generally agreed upon "white", they will be disappointed with the HPE..

On the Ducky with the white caps you could paint the case.

Also, please know that the white Leopolds have a bit of an egg-shell white case while the keycaps are more of a pure white. I read this about the FC200R model, so I'm not sure if they changed this with the 700.
