Cherry Brown/Red Keyboard for $70
« on: Thu, 21 March 2013, 13:10:19 »
So I'm looking to buy my first mechanical keyboard and after doing my research I think I've decided I would like either Red or Brown switches. My budget is fairly tight so I would like to spend $70 or less. Does anyone know of any keyboards that are in this price price range? I'm fine with either full size or ten-keyless.

Quick Fire Rapid
I was thinking this as well but everywhere I see them they are $80-$90.

I got my first QFR Blue on Amazon for $64. I haven't seen anything cheaper in its quality range.

Keep your eyes open, they routinely go for $65 new.  I think I actually picked mine up for less than that.

Blues go for $65 new, but browns and reds don't. At least not routinely. Just check Amazon price history.

EDIT: But if you were talking about something other than a QFR, like a Rosewill, then that's a different story.

I got my Blacks for less than $65.  Browns seem to stay high and I've seen Reds go down quite a few times, but Blues and Blacks are the most common on sale.

I got my Rosewill with Reds for $35.

Off of Reddit.  Now it's in the middle of a switch swap and paint job.

+1, don't even think about buying this board
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.
