Tiger Direct has managed to get some stock of these highly desirable SSDs. This deal is best for those who don't pay tax for Tiger Direct.

Price is $169.99 - $20 rebate (it is through 4myRebate, so its fast and reliable if you follow the steps)
These flew out the doors of Microcenter back in December for $165, so this is a better deal if you don't mind waiting ~4-5 weeks for the rebate.
Tiger Direct usually charges about $4 for shipping on these. Tax is applied if you ship to certain states* (see below).

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7812945&Sku=S203-1044&SRCCODE=LINKSHARE&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&AffiliateID=lw9MynSeamY-qB9Y1bprVPAzjtNWMvzXQA

*Florida, Idaho, Texas, North Carolina, South Dakota,Georgia and Illinois residents are charged according to their state and local tax rate

Yeah, sorry. I posted it as soon as I saw it and managed to get 2 (between me and my bf) before it went OOS.

Yeah, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. I'm just happy that I got one for myself :)

Updating title to indicate OOS.

Congrats!!! I own two of them, but use Plextor drives for my main computers.

Oh my bad, these are 830. I confused it with 840 pro.

First off, these are once again, back in stock, however...

These are the 830 series, which is being phased out in favor of the 840 which is faster.
While there is no rebate, Microcenter has the 250gb 840 series for $169. Personally, I to hell with rebates, I do all I can to discourage their use.

830 is faster and way more durable than 840 with TLC NAND, while the 840 Pro is faster and priced quite a bit higher than 840.

Edit - Rated speeds using compressible data mean nothing for the average or even above average PC user.

Considering my 60gb OS drive is perilously close to full and I'm having to keep my second 60gb trim, this is tempting for the price...

Well it's back in stock, so I'd buy it and then sell me the white Treble case lol

Anyone even pondering an SSD should jump on this deal. Great SSD that likely won't ever be at this price again, or even be in stock once this deal completely sells out for that matter.

Good catch, I didn't realize they had started hitting the market, TLC was never intended for SSD drives for quite a few reasons.

Unfortunately, I doubt this is the only or the last to do it (I haven't gone looking at others).

Just got mine, was surprised by the minimal packaging.
My experience so far was with Crucial and Kingston, Crucial came in a fairly nice box and the Kingston was packaged like it was fort knox.
This SSD came in a simple plastic shell, without anything except the SSD in an antistatic bag, not even screws... so far packaging is very disappointing. Hope the disc itself lives up to its reputation.

That's how OEM drives come. Nothing to be worried about :)

That's what happens when you buy OEM items vs retail.
