Anyone A Fan County Music?
« on: Tue, 26 March 2013, 12:56:08 »
I've organized a meetup here in Nashville on April 6th, but the thought occurred to me today that for my next meet up, it might be a good idea to choose a date during the CMA Music Fest aka Fan Fair.

Making a trip to Nashville just for mechanical keyboards is one thing, but being able to see Dierks Bently, or Lady A might yield a bigger draw.  :))

Any Country music fans here on GeekHack?

I'm not a fan of a lot of modern country, but I do appreciate some good hellbilly and goth country.

I'm not a fan per se, but I've come to enjoy a lot of the country music my wife listens to.  Zac Brown is cool.  Lady Antebellum also comes to mind.

One thing I do legitimately love is bluegrass:

Well, if you ever make it out here, I'll be sure to take you to the Station Inn. That place is amazing.

She is scheduled to appear if all you want is a concert, but I don't know where she'll be to actually meet her and sign autographs.

Hm if you got her autograph, I'd likely give you my body. But yes, I do want to go to one of her concerts. That would be the best. Ever.
CPTBadAss, I was kidding... mostly. :P Also...

I just like switching the lyrics around when a country song comes on the radio.

Example: "All My Exes Live In Texas" --> "All My Exes Change Their Sexes"

Just teasing country fans. It may be a bit hokey at times but  country music is still several orders of magnitude better than rap or hip hop, which is what they must play in Satan's waiting room.  :p

Yeehaw!  I loves me some Country Music.  I can't make it to Nashville in April.  But maybe in May.  How far is it to Memphis, TN?  Can I see Graceland in the same trip?

I don't care much for Taylor Swift, but I loves that Kenny Chesney, is he around them parts?  I think he lives (or lived) in Knoxville, TN.

Yes. It's about a 3 hour drive from Nashville.

I like genuine country. Not so much the manufactured Nashville pish though. Some newer alternative country acts like Drive By Truckers are pretty good too.

Not any that I've ever heard.

@ Malphas:  awww man, I like that Nashville music factory stuff.  Sure it's commercial, and mass produced.  But I still like it.  And is that a pic of Mick Fleetwood in your avatar?
