I have driven to Wisconsin from Illinois for some decent food.

Kilwin's in Lake Geneva has some 'came in my pants' quality Ice Cream - the best I've ever had anywhere.  I had some scoops of oatmeal, coconut (AWESOME), some others - all excellent.  If I was on death row this is what I would order.

Simple Cafe in LG is also good.  Quite a few unique breakfast incorporating kimchee.

I've got the names of a couple other restaurants at home; I'll post the names later.

Doesn't that just mean there's something seriously wrong with Wisconsin, since this hobby usually has great comorbidity?

Here are some good places to eat:

http://www.yelp.com/biz/taqueria-la-mexicana-walworth - Really great mexican food.  It is connected internally to a grocery store as well.  Nothing fancy - just good food.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/sammys-on-the-square-walworth - This is in the same mall as the mexican place.  The pizza is good and they have this awesome burger topped with bbq pork.  oh jesus.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/sprechers-restaurant-and-pub-lake-geneva - my dad swears by this place.  He put on 7 lbs in one visit.  I trust him. :D

http://www.yellowjersey.org/ - not food; probably the best bicycle shop in the Midwest.

New Glarus - I have yet to visit the brewery though.

Anyone been to Rustic Road in Kenosha yet?  I just learned of it and need to go.  Have been to many microbreweries in the SW US but not this one in my backyard.

My sister lives (almost) in Racine, so that's super close.  I'm down there very frequently.  Maybe I'll bug you next time I'm around if that was a serious offer to anyone.

I'm currently in MN, but my heart belongs to WI.  I'm from near-ish Waukesha.  There really are a lot of people here from WI.  If there's a meetup I'd be there in a flash.

Also, I really really miss New Glarus beer.  Jealous of all you guys who can still buy it.  Downside of living in MN I guess.

I'm glad this thread was started.

Oh don't worry, I'm a Packers fan for sure.  No way that's ever changing.  But yes, the lack of Packer nation is severely unfortunate.  :D

Also, I did have a fun time rooting against both the Vikings and Bears when I attended a game between the two here in Minneapolis a few years back.  :)

Oh man, I wonder how that went haha.

It sleeted and I was literally frozen after the game.  That's the most memorable part for me.

Favre was taken out before the game was over due to an injury I believe, and I think the Bears won by quite a bit.
This was the game played at TCF Stadium on campus right after the Metrodome was converted to the Metrobowl.
