Hong Kong/Tokyo Keyboard Hotspots
« on: Wed, 24 April 2013, 12:04:51 »
Any cool keyboard shops in Hong Kong or Tokyo that anyone can recommend? I have been to Golden Computer Center and 298 in Hong Kong but no luck, any other suggestions? EDIT: no luck meaning I found a stack of beat up ducky boxes in Sham Shui Po.

Haven't been to Tokyo but I'll be there next month. If I were to walk around Akihabara would I just run into one? Any particular locations?

Have you played sleeping dogs- Real life version?

Head down to the message parlor

If you're in Tokyo, I mean, they're even more open about this stuff..

If you go to the "clubs" don't go alone, otherwise you might get drunk, and the girls rob you.

The parlors are fine, very much, honest business

Unfortunately, no real keyboard spot in Akihabara any more. This is an Akihabara map for keyboard shoppers.

BTW, I remember one deported old member. He was also savvy about Japanese sub-culture...

There doesn't seem to be the same kind of enthusiast community like there is in Korea. I'd love if someone could prove me wrong. Is there a Japanese equivalent of KBDMania? Japanese customs?

The huge stores in Akihabara such as Yodobashi Camera right by the station have the usual Filco's, Topre, and HHKB Pro. Actually that store had the best selection I could find. A pretty soulless shopping experience though.

I think it's cuz keyboarding is only a hobby you turn to when you're deprived of prostitutes... In the USA the price is too high for daily use.. which is why we have more stupid hobbys that are cheap like keyboards..

Whereas in Asia, they don't bother with keyboarding, because they're so stress free from low cost of sex. :D

Dafuq u talking bout? Respect women much? OP asking about good keyboard resellers and u go off topic about hookers. Majority of these women are abused and coerced into prostitution. Wrong subforum degenerate.

Again, unfortunately no community in Japan or very very small personal relationship only exists, I guess.

Its all cool guys. I deliberately inserted some innuendo into my post, no worries!

@hasu, thanks for the map, I'll certainly stop by all those places!
@stoic-lemon, darn I was sort of looking forward to a mom/pop, personal experience. Too bad its business as usual.

Is it really worth going to Korea for? I wouldn't find those custom winkeyless in shops though would I? Any maps for Seoul?

I've been to every state of USA, Much of canada due to friends, I was born in China, and have visited almost all of East Asia, including South East Asia, Indonesia etc, India, and all of western Europe connected by Rail.

Where've you been??

I've met working girls everywhere

And I can tell you that it is only a myth that women in the "trade" are abused and "forced"

People spread this misconception about them to further dehumanize them.. and perhaps to feel better about themselves.. The truth is it's an occupation like all other..

MOST are there by choice..   because guess what, there is no free health care in the rest of the world, they also don't have the purchasing power and base living wages to even eat fat and well.. on a waitress's salary is the same as a string away from death in other countries..

You need to take your draconian American views on human sexuality and start fisting yourself, because only then could you even comprehend how OTHERS live, have sex, and enjoy it way more than you....

You may think EVERYONE can afford to be doctors and lawyers, but guess what THAT DOESn't just happen..

Some female in your ancestry was a prostitute, and she sold it so that her children has a SHOT at being a doctor / lawyer.

RESPECT HER

Sham Shui Po and Akihabara,   I honestly LITERALLY thought -you- were vaguely disguising this thread as what I -openly- condone.
