best switches per board
« on: Thu, 02 May 2013, 23:51:06 »
So each switch will feel different depending on which board it's on but is there any agreement between ideal combos. like would everyone agree that blues feel best on a qfr or blacks feel best on a filco etc...

it would be interesting to make a list like this or a vote of some sort.

It's going to be subjective for every single setup.

Different batches feel different. I have quite a few Cherry 'boards, and blacks feel almost like reds on one of them.

I'd vouch for my filco with blues, it can kick the blackwidow's ass anyday.

Has to do with build quality a lot, difference in plate material like some are aluminum not steel, the thickness of the plate... thickness and rigidness of the casebody which will be a huge factor in feeling on PCB mount in particular. Then the switches themselves as Cherry lists a cN tolerance of ±10 on their springs so some batches really may be considerable lighter or heavier than others.

A 2 pound special from a garden sale can beat a Blackwidow...
