I got a CM storm quickfire pro with cherry mx reds a few months ago and I really like it. Anyway my mum really likes it so I am giving it to her and just going to buy myself another mech keyboard. But I want to try the blue or brown switches, I'm gonna be buying the leopold FC700R. But I can't make my mind up on what switch to get. people say that the blues are good for typing but are bad for gaming, while browns are a good mix. People say that the blues are harder to double tap with. Blue switches also sound much more appealing.

They're both tactile. One just clicks. It doesn't make sense to me that one of them is good at certain things and the other isn't.

Blues aren't bad at gaming. I used them for a year and they were fine.

It's not just the click. The blues feel completely different from browns. Browns are minimally tactile -- frankly, when I press one, I have to really pay attention to even notice that it has a tactile bump at all. It's nothing at all like the distinct bump in an MX blue or an Alps (or, from what I hear, in MX clears, though I have never tried them).

Having just gotten a Filco with blues, I completely see why people say this is not an ideal gaming switch. When I use the arrow keys to navigate the browser or a document, it does feel really strange to have to release past the reset point before you can press again. It is not conducive to rapid-fire presses. For typing text, on the other hand, it feels lovely.

I am considering picking up a second one with either browns or reds. One can be at work and one at home!
